We stopped by for late lunch on Christmas day. It wasn’t that busy. The attendant was very friendly. We ordered kaptaan lamb karahi (made in ghee) and chaska chicken karahi (made in kali mirch). Karahi was i think onion based with a little gravy but it was well cooked and delicious. Lamb was so soft though i think chicken needed a little more time. Loved their peshawri naan. And their mint chutney was amazing. Loved how mint and chillies was coarsely chopped and mixed into good consistency chutney. Just perfect!

No salad was offered though. Usually karahi serving restaurants do give you complimentary salad/onions.

We also got meethi(sweet) lassi, it was okay not as good as you get from Zouq 100 in Hicksville, NY (they have best lassi in town). Gulab jamun were good too.

You see different karahi mentioned on their menu, interestingly, different names give you karahi made in different fat from oil to ghee or makhan(butter). I found it very interesting and unique no other place offer you karahi variety based on that. Their signature karahis are made in oil. Kaptaan ones in ghee. Next time inshaAllah we will try chicken kaptaan karahi, desi chicken cooked in desi Ghee with their garma garam peshawari naan!!!

Overall good experience. InshaAllah will come back for more.

I saw many ppl mentioning about dirty washrooms. I find it clean, no strong smell but not super clean but still clean enough.

Happy to find another good halal pakistani karahi place. And yes loved their wall paintings/murals representing Pakistani landmarks.

HALAL! nice restaurant to go for delicious Karahi; the chicken signature was hit and saucy with rich taste and not too spicy
Love the bread as well; when we had some Karahi left over, the even brought out a smaller bread for nice, as it is made in house; nice touch
The food takes a while to come out, but well worth it!
Give it lower on atmosphere cause bathroom was disgusting and not what I expected from a place like this

Their foods are really delicious. I have tried a few items from this restaurant. Every single item was really tasty. Specially chef Muhammad’s naan and kheer was totally amazing. The stuffs behavior was also very good. Their service, ambient and food are really a great deal in a place like New Jersey. I’m really impressed with everything of this restaurant. One of the best Pakistani restaurants in USA. Everyone must try it at least for once highly recommended

Food was so bad that I ended up apologizing to my family for bringing them here.

From the moment we walked in, the restaurant looked completely neglected. The front door glass was smashed, the entire place was freezing, and they didn’t even bother turning the heat on. The restaurant was empty, yet the staff were busy eating with the kitchen crew and scrolling through TikTok on their phones instead of serving customers. Our server looked uninterested, unprofessional, and genuinely bothered by our presence. Easily some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced — straight-up paindu-style service with zero standards.

The food wasn’t any better:
• Karahi: full of bones and lacking flavor
• Biryani: just okay
• Chapli Kebabs: hard, cold, and tasted reheated

The only decent thing on the table was the naan.

What upset us the most was the misleading pricing. The menu prices were incorrect, and they added an extra $20 just for paying with a card without mentioning it anywhere. For only three items, I ended up paying over $100, which is ridiculous given the terrible quality and overall experience. When we questioned it, the server simply shrugged and said, “It is how it is — we know the menu prices are wrong.”

They are single-handedly ruining the name of Pakistani cuisine with this level of food and service.

Hopefully the owners actually realize what kind of experience their customers are receiving and fix it, because now I understand why so many negative reviews have been left recently. I came in hoping for a nice family dinner and walked out embarrassed. Definitely won’t be back.

It was empty when we entered, but they quickly served us fresh food. You can see them making the naan in front of you and the Karahi was excellent. I would definitely go back.

Food was great, but service was too slow. Even we were the only customers in restaurant. One more family came, so I was wondering what they do when it’s crowded on the weekends. Just appetizer took 30 minutes and we kept telling them to bring drinks. Even food started coming. They never serve drinks.
We had to tell them multiple times,
Other than that, food was great, very fresh flavor every bite was like authentic Pakistani cuisine like you’re sitting in Pakistan, everything was on point including desert, Will definitely recommend to friends and we’ll go back. Food was amazing. Please work on your service.

This is a hidden gem! The ambience is clean and beautiful. The service is top notch and the food is delicious. The chapli kababs are Huge and the best I have had! The peshawari naans are fresh and large in size- we ordered 2 for 2 of us but 1 would suffice. The Karahi was bursting with flavor . We also had the chai which was how we like it! Must try!

Karahi Wala in Colonia, NJ right off I-287 has some of the best halal Pakistani food I’ve ever had. The food was incredibly tasty and high quality—you can tell everything is made fresh with authentic masala and spices. The service was excellent, the restaurant was super clean, and the atmosphere felt like a real taste of Pakistan, it was very well decorated.

I also really appreciated the prayer room in the back for guests and the friendly staff who served us. I came with a group of 5 on a Saturday and we were seated immediately with no wait time.

If you’re anywhere in NJ and craving halal Pakistani food, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Tried this place first time couple weeks ago. The cute little restaurant had nice decor but Try not to sit under ac cause water will drip on you. The food goat karhi was tasty and love how they made the fresh hot naan. The fish was kind of bland but it was ok just need some flavor then would be better. Service wasn’t as good and the plate wasn’t clean. Just need to work on those things other then that it was alright.

I went here for iftaar buffet. Food is delicious, authentic Pakistani taste. Best place to eat Pakistani food so far. Only problem was the iftaar arrangement. It was not organized and the seating was very congested.
Suggestion: It would be better if they let one side of people take the food first, refill the platters and then let the other side of people take food, to make it less crowded and more organized.
Will definitely come back for food.
