⚠️‼️We hired Karahi Kabob (aka Akmal’s Catering) for my brother’s wedding reception on December 20, 2025, for 200 guests, and the experience was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking for our family. The food arrived almost two hours late, completely disrupting the event schedule. Appetizers were served well over an hour later than planned, leaving guests waiting, and due to the delay they had to be served cold.

During dinner service, several trays of food had a strong, foul odor and were clearly unsafe to serve, forcing us to throw them away. The smell was so overwhelming that it was difficult to even stand near the kitchen area, it made me gag, and I am not normally sensitive. Many guests left full or nearly full plates untouched, and more than half of the food trays were left over, much of it not salvageable.

Most upsetting was that the food quality was nothing like the tasting we had at their restaurant. What was promised and what was delivered were completely different. This was my brother’s wedding reception, and the experience was embarrassing, sad, and deeply disappointing for our entire family.

We cannot recommend Akmal’s Catering to anyone looking for timely service, fresh food, or quality catering, and strongly caution others against trusting them with an important event. They are not even willing to take responsibility for their actions.

Pakistani Best Taste truly lives up to its name! The flavors are authentic, rich, and bursting with traditional spices that transport you straight to the heart of Pakistan. From the smoky chicken tikka to the perfectly spiced biryani, every dish feels homemade and full of love. The naan is soft and buttery, and the kebabs are juicy and flavorful. The service is warm, and the ambiance gives a cozy, family-style vibe. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Pakistani food!

I stopped here after driving from NC. I was surprised to see the restaurant empty of customers but an eager young man manning the register. I asked him what he recommended. He recommended the beef and chicken sikh kebab. I love kebabs so I have high expectations. The food pictured is what I received. The taste was absolutely amazing! Very spacy with plenty of parking to come try this amazing food with amazing and friendly staff! Ask for Suzal. He was the front attendant.

It is very nice family owned halal food restaurants. The kabobs, dessert like kheer, gulag jaman are amazing.

They have best Chana, roghni naan in town.

You can’t find taste of fried fish, chicken Tikka, chapli kabobs ND many more anywhere else.

Overall amazing food and service.

The food quantity has gone down significantly while the prices have increased. I cannot imagine price of $14 for two puri. Cleanliness was pathetic and so dark and no light in the dinning area.

Best Kabob Restaurant in the DC Area so far

The food I had at Karahi Kabab was delicious. I have not had such great kabobs in the DC for a long time. The meat was perfectly cooked, nicely charred yet still juicy. The chickpeas were extremely creamy and did not have any excess oil. The Naans were unlike anywhere else, nicely baked with a tasty ghee and sesame topping. The seasoning and salt levels of all the food was on point. Everything was served at the same time and came piping hot. But make sure to come with patience as they make everything to order and become very busy with takeout orders. Regardless, the service here was great and they were very friendly and apologetic about the wait time. But in the end, the food was definitely worth the wait.

I ate here about 2 years ago, and the buffet was excellent. With Covid impacting businesses badly, I’m dining out and tipping more to help the restaurants. This place has been remodeled, and looks do nice and clean. The waiter, might be the owner, was very nice. I ordered the Combo 2 with kubideh and lamb, and a chicken wrap like sandwich. Although the combo came out sizzling in a hot plate… Yummmm. It was pretty good since I didn’t eat lunch and was hungry, but the meat was very dry. The kubideh crumbled into pieces, and the lamb was over cooked too. I thought the chicken wrap was an appetizer since it looked small in the picture. I was too full to eat it, but took a bite after I got home. and my goodness, it’s delicious!!? I will eat the rest tomorrow. I hope the chicken will be tasty and not dry. Both meals looked real good. Just wish the meat wasn’t over cooked for the combo. It seems to me that the restaurants are not cooking as well as they used to prior to covid. I went to a Vietnamese restaurants, Korean restaurants, American restaurants… And now this restaurant, all the food is not as good as prior to covid. Maybe the mood of the chefs affected their cooking, which is a possibility.

RESTAURANT!!! ⚠️ ⚠️

This restaurant has the potential to be amazing, but it falls short.
My wife and I visited six months ago, and we were disappointed to find bugs and flies everywhere. The buffet was dry, old, and poorly lit, and the plastic garden tables and chairs were a letdown. But we didn’t give up! We went back yesterday to give it another chance, but unfortunately, the hygiene situation had worsened. There were even more flies and bugs, and the bathroom was nasty. To top it off, we ordered Nihari, which tasted old, and we ended up with food poisoning.

Let’s hope the owner takes our feedback to heart and makes some much-needed changes. Don’t go there… yet! Let’s give them time to turn things around. It’s a waste of time and money for now, but with a little effort, this place could be transformed. Maybe the owner just needs a reminder of why they got into the restaurant business in the first place.
