Great, iconic restaurant in Central Bradford. I went for lunch. It wasn’t busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was beautiful and inexpensive. Fab. I massively over ordered, having a mixed starter, then a chicken biryani and a chai. Could easily have done without the main because the starter (pictured) was huge.

My brother remembered coming here many years ago and recommended it.
I have to say it was one of the best Indian meals I have had!Totally unpretentious and the quality of food was fantastic. We were given the warmest of welcomes.
The menu was extensive. I ordered the mixed kari which was full of lamb and chicken whilst my brother had a vegetarian lentil curry and naan bread. Huge popadoms with homemade pickles and as many chapatis as you could eat! Absolutely delicious. Don’t expect a knife and fork, although I’m sure they would oblige if you asked. This place is authentic. If you’re in Bradford this restaurant is a must.

Friendly and pocket friendly curry house. Stripped back to basics as an eatery but food is good. Fuss free letting the food take centre stage. Well worth a visit. Excellent value.

I’ve been going for over a decade at least once a year – sometimes two or three – mainly for the Karahi dishes. The Karachi cafe has always been consistently good food for the price. Although I cannot claim testament to what it was like in the 60s – or even 80s – and get the feeling that the staff may change regularly, I would say without a doubt that the spinach Karahis have a richness and depth of flavour that I’ve simply not had elsewhere, even at other really good British Indian Restaurants. The staff have always been courteous and professional on all occasions. It’s always been thoroughly clean with spotless tables and plates but the walls and fittings and fixtures really must be fifty years old now, at least. It’s a really iconic place in Bradford and gives off an old vibe that probably isn’t dissimilar to places in Pakistan itself. A part of me wonders if it could relaunch itself with an interior designer involved to combine the modern and old traditional building a bit what like MyLahore has done over the road … I think it could be done! Bradford always seems to get overlooked, but has a lot to offer and it’s always worth a trip here after visiting the National Science Museum or IMAX. Don’t judge it, have a go and try it and be surprised!

Just one little niggle: the last time I visited they’ve now installed some new LED lighting, but if I’m honest the strong blue tint it gives may suit a nighttime bar – but doesn’t altogether suit eating in my opinion – the blue colour tints all the amazing colours of the food on the plates a bit. I’d change the blue colour to neutral LED if I were in charge.

Really good value, excellent Pakistani food in this cafe style restaurant. Everything is freshly cooked in the open kitchen. Poppadoms and onion bhaji were great, as were all the curries, rice, naans and chapati. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Bradford.

We have visited this restaurant for the first time. We have been to many other restaurants in Bradford and this was excellent. We had a lovely warm welcome. We could bring our own alcohol. The food was very fast from ordering but it was very quiet. We ordered mushroom bhaji. Chicken karahi, chicken dopiaza a plain rice and it came with 6 chapatis. They catered for our tastes which was much appreciated. We could not fault anything and our plates were wiped clean. After visiting the international previously where the chicken tikka masala was hotter than my husbands madras this was an absolute bargain and much better than that. We will be returning.

Starters were disgusting. Refried, greasy and tasteless. Sent the mix platter back after a few bites, but not one apology!

Authentic curries with a decent price. Karachi is always our favourite in Bradford and we wouldn’t go anywhere else for a curry. Menu options are vast, service is fast! Thanks for a lovely meal as always.

Appearances can be deceiving.

On a rather unassuming street in Bradford is Karachi. It’s easily missed and if you didn’t know it was there you’d walk straight passed it.

Karachi is a very authentic restaurant.

It’s cash only and they do not serve drinks, but you can bring your own.

Food – Outstanding. I cannot explain just how good the food here is. If you like curry this is the place.
Portion sizes are perfect and the value for money is exceptional.

Highly recommend.

Unreal curry house. Visited with friends yesterday and had an excellent experience.
We had chicken pakoras and onion bhaji for starters with the dressing and salad on the side.
Mains were chicken Karachi and meatballs.
garlic naan was so fresh with chapatis.
I cannot recommend this place enough.
Service is high with staff being friendly and engaging.
