Visited Kaptain Jimmy’s Seafood in Agawam and ordered the seafood platter with a side of creamy risotto. The portion size was generous and definitely enough to share, but overall the food was just okay.

The biggest thing for me was the lack of flavor. The fried seafood wasn’t very seasoned and also leaned more soggy than crispy, which took away from the experience. I was really hoping for that crunchy, well-seasoned bite you expect from a seafood platter.

The risotto was creamy but pretty bland, it didn’t really stand out or add much to the plate.

Overall, the food was edible but didn’t wow me. If you prefer bold flavor and extra crispiness, this might not be your go to. I may try something different next time, but this order didn’t hit for me.

90+ tap beers! This whole place is a true American dining/ drinking experience. Employees here are family. A true hidden GEM America is losing places like this daily with new developments. I had drinks. But took the food home. My Aunts really enjoyed the food. Can’t wait to go back and bring the whole family. Free WiFi if you lose phone service there. Fine dining prix menu also the regular menu is huge. Biggest menu I have ever seen.

From the name it might sound like a tourist trap. That being said it is a great restaurant with delicious food. If you eat there on a Tuesday and get their $14.99 special add surf and turf and absolutely delicious! The staff was wonderful very attentive you even get bread with a honey butter while you’re waiting for your dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately they don’t have a distillery in the building any longer as I would have definitely bought a bottle of Kaptain Jimmy’s rum.

Have eaten here about a dozen times over the last seven years. I have always had a pretty good experience, in food, atmosphere, and service.

There is a fairly wide range of food options to choose from. I had the penne bolognese and several of my family went with fish and chips, with our son having chicken tenders and steak. Several folks had french onion soup. Everyone liked their food. There was some maple butter with the bread which clashed with most of our meals, but an exception overall.

Service was slow for a Sunday. Not too many patrons. Once we got rolling, service improved and kept up.

The atmosphere is good. It reminds me of the kind of place you might go to while vacationing by the beach. There is a very big bar, complete with a section for live music events, including a dance floor.

There was a funky disinfectant smell in the men’s room that was somewhat overpowering. Overall, we had a nice time, and we’d go back. Of the dozen times I’ve been, this day seems like an anomaly.

Local Pirate Themed Restaurant that also has a Microdistillery attached. There are three sections to restaurant, left of entrance is the large main dining area. Straight ahead is the main bar area, and to the right is a very large event space, with another very large bar, and a stage area for bands that play on Friday and Saturday nights.

Dined in on Friday early night. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Menu is extensive with many options.

We had Blue Point oysters and fried calamari for apps. Oysters were on special 5 for $10, came with lemon wedges, grated horseradish, and cocktail sauce on the side. The calamari was cooked well, breading was crispy, portion large. Calamari came with marinara, and waitress suggested the garlic aoli which was good.

For drinks we had the Kraken cocktail, and the Shamrock shake. Both were tasty and refreshing.

For main course we had the Kaptain’s Angry Pasta (chorizo, chicken, shrimp with roasted red peppers in a spicy cream sauce with penne). We also had the 14oz Prime Rib with veggies and mash potatoes. Both dishes were generous portions and cooked very well and flavorful.

The Prime Rib cooked medium rare was tender and came with au jus sauce. The waitress also suggested the horseradish cream sauce, both accoutrements complimented the beef well. The veggies were seasoned well and sautéed with butter.

Overall very good meal, pleasantly surprised, highly recommend, and definitely will be coming back.

Came here after just moving to Agawam. Very big restaurant with all types of seating and food options available. The Mexican menu was very good, and the drinks were tasty. Staff was really nice and service was fast. Definitely have to go back and try more of their food!

I went out last night and had quite the negative experience. I have lived in town in the past and frequently visited here but this past time will be my last. We walked in and noticed it wasn’t busy, which was nice. It was 2 adults and 2 children. The kids ordered their meals as they were hungry and myself and another adult ordered a drink. The boys meals came before the drinks (and the meals took about 25 minutes to get to us). The waitress said she doesn’t think that the bartender saw the drink order slip (okay). So she came back with our drinks 10 minute after that and we ordered our food. The place was pretty dead. Took 45 minutes to get our food. There was no apology for everything taking so long (would’ve especially been nice for comped drinks after waiting the time we did). But we figured it was all tasty so it was fine. But when she brought the food she didn’t even acknowledge the fact of how long we were waiting. I genuinely couldn’t believe it. We ate and my meal was great but my boyfriend didn’t like his at all and barely at it. We got the check and left.

We tried again after a dreadful experience service wise and it was worse than last time. The food is great but the wait staff we have had each time was the worst I have experienced anywhere. You have to go seek your own drinks out or wait the twenty minutes if you want. Our waitress was high on something when she introduced herself. Eyes shut and shot and that should have been my warning this was going to be another rough one. Get the food to go or find another place. LITERALLY any other place will treat you better for your hard earned money your spending.

I don’t know if it was a lazy Sunday for them but the whole restaurant seems lackluster in terms of waiting staff, HVAC and food quality.
Came in at 1300, didn’t get our orders until 1315. Only 2 staff was seen around the whole restaurant, the concierge and a waiter.
Weather outside was mid 30s. But their HVAC couldn’t care less as it seem it was colder inside.
Ordered the following food
Baked Stuffed Cod – stale, old fish which was cooked dry and underseasoned
10oz. Prime Rib – decent size but bland, beef au jus looked and tasted like microwaved dark water.
Pasta Bolognese – Penne was still drowning in pasta water when served, ragu was underwhelming, “four” melted cheese on top was a compensation for flavor.

Wish management posted nor gave us a heads up how long it took for the waiter and dishes to be served. Left around 1500 for no reason. Felt like we waste our time in waiting too long.

Prime Rib and baked scallops were our entrees. Good piping hot food. Our waitress, Emily, was exceptional. She took the time to answer our questions and helped me to make the perfect choice. This place is huge. It also has a large distillery side with a dance floor where bands play. Something else to look forward to besides trying a different entree next time.
