Visited this place on my way back from Chickasaw State Park for a quick lunch. Even though they did not have much vegetarian options, I tried the fried rice (with a peach in the middle )which was perfect with some hot chili oil sauce. The girl at the reception was a bit strange as she kept asking if I was there to pick up an order or Uber eats order even though I kept telling her that I want to dine in but once I was seated, everything was pretty good. Will definitely try again if I’m in the area.

10/10 recommend! We had an amazing time here today, the waitress was delightful, service was prompt and reasonably priced. The miso soup was the best I’ve never had and of course the sushi was delicious as well. Makes me wish we lived local to come back.

The food and service is very good here. The portions are large. I would definitely return in the future.

Was looking through the area for Unagi Don and Kanpai did not disappoint. Excellent presentation, flavour, and portion.
I also had the Kevin Roll and it was surprisingly rich in flavour. The sweetness in the roll took me by surprise but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It may be a little too sweet for some so if you don’t like sweeter flavours but something similar I would suggest their Shrimp Tempura Roll and ask for a side of eel sauce.
TL:DR 9/10 will eat here for lunch again.

Amazing lunch prices on Hibachi. The New York Strip was deliciously prepared and even the Miso was well done. Good balance of herbs and tofu. The music in the background was horrendous though and I personally don’t watch football at all so none of the entertainment was interesting but the place was clean and had an excellent bar vibe, minus the music.

Haven’t had sushi in awhile and my brother wanted to go to the movies so we stopped by for a bite before heading to the theatre. I had the Henderson House Roll and was completely satisfied size wise as well as with the flavor and construction of this beautiful and delicious roll. It is amazing without soy sauce because the spice of the jalapeño gives an extra bite to the roll, but adding in the sauce creates a totally new flavor that kept me interested in the roll till my plate was clean. My brother had the General Tso’s Chicken and liked the mix of sauce and breading thickness on the chicken because it was not overwhelming like you would get from a takeaway. We came in at 5:30, were immediately sat when they were relatively busy, and were out before 6:30. Though it initially seems a little pricey, I would say you receive a serving portion of a high quality that is worth the money spent. My only gripe would be that the wait staff was not incredibly attentive to filling up waters, but considering that there was not an empty table in the house when we left I forgive this short fall and would greatly recommend a visit if you are on this side of Jackson and looking for a sushi roll or other Japanese/Chinese dish.

Kanpai is a fantastic spot in Jackson to go get sushi. Big time underrated and not talked about enough. Been here multiple times and it’s never disappointing. Always leave more than full. Prices are fair but the lunch portion was a great size for its value. Taste great and the service was fine. One of my favorite sushi places in the area

I ordered the King Kong roll as a food challenge I did on my YouTube channel and it was 7 lb I believe and I only was able to eat four and a half pounds maybe but it was good though.
Back then like 4 years ago it costed around $80 and today I think she said it was around $100… But I dare you to try it
