I had to leave a review specifically for Rachel! She mentioned to our group at the rotating sushi bar that she was new to the establishment, but you would never have known. Out of all the times I’ve sat at Kanpai, she has been the most attentive and genuinely outstanding server we’ve had.
My drink was never empty, she checked in at the perfect times without being overbearing, and she made sure we were completely satisfied the entire experience. On top of that, she was so kind and welcoming. Rachel is such an amazing addition to this establishment, and Kanpai is lucky to have her!
We will absolutely be back.

I went here for a dinner because I wanted some sushi of course. The sushi was a 4/5 for sure, it was very good but not perfect. What made it taste like a 5/5 was actually my wonderful waitress named Sabrina! She greeted with a smile and made sure to explain everything on the menu that I had asked about. She was quick and efficiently brought my drinks when I ordered them. After I finished and paid, she even said “Have a good rest of your night!”. Wow, I went in with not the best mood and left feeling rejuvinated! What a great waitress!

The restaurant is very pretty to look at upon walking it. The tables and floors are clean and the wall decors are set up nicely. I ordered the bulgolgi. This wasn’t bulgolgi. It took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did I was not happy with it. It was over cooked beef with a terrible flavor. I don’t know what makes them think it was bulgolgi.
The bathroom did not reflect the rest of the restaurant as it was run down and not properly kept. I’ve seen gas station bathrooms in better condition. I had to find someone to get me soap since the bathroom had none. My girlfriend told me the female bathroom was disgusting with dirty water all over the ground.
The rest of my group didn’t complain too much about their food aside from the length of time we had to wait for it.
When it was time to pay the bill our server was no where to be found. I had to walk around the restaurant to find someone else that would give me the check. Very disappointed and will NOT be returning. Cannot recommend.

Had a great time at Kanpai in Boca Raton. I sat at the bar and Mitch was really helpful with suggestions. Happy hour runs from 10pm to close on certain days, perfect for late-night drinks in Boca. I tried the Devil’s Advocate spicy margarita for $9 and it was really great. I also had a shot of Hornitos for the first time for $6 and my Corona was only $4.
The food was amazing. The bang bang shrimp had a great portion for $10. The Lava Drop Roll was so good I ended up ordering two for $10 each. The JB Tempura was another solid pick for $10. Kanpai has some of the best sushi rolls in Boca for sure. The upbeat music and fun vibes made it a really enjoyable night. I will be back and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for great sushi in Boca Raton.

Very underwhelming food to be honest, there’s lots of other asian style restaurants I’d recommend before this one.
The Korean fried chicken had great crispy breading and a good sauce but the chicken itself was overcooked and not tender, needed to be fried at a lower temperature for longer time, or brine the chicken beforehand so it’s more tender.
The cheesy tteokpeokki was also overcooked and dry, and maybe it’s not traditional but I feel like an emulsified cheese sauce would be better for this dish than just melted cheese on top.
The lychee cocktail was good, but could really do without the blended lychee in the cocktail. Lychee is not a very good texture when it’s blended, could just be my own preference though.
The krab in our spicy krab roll was just way too salty for some reason, not sure how they messed that up.
For the cost of the menu items, the food really should be better than what you get, I don’t think I’ll be coming back here or recommending it to friends.

late night happy hour is great, love the veggie gyoza, the pork belly, truffle edamame and the avocado fries. the drinks are aweeesome!!!! must try the bees knees and the one with the panda. sake by the glass is a really good portion. service is good

My husband made dinner reservations for Valentine’s day at Kanpai. When you walk in the restaurant gives good vibes. One thing we noticed is that there were lots of k-bbq style tables but overheard the staff telling guest that the tables don’t work. We ordered off the happy hour menu since they had a decent selection and off the regular menu. We ordered spicy wonton. When it arrived it was cold like it was defrosting. We mainly ordered sushi and appetizers and it took over 2 hours to get our entire order. The women’s restroom was disgusting no toilet paper or paper towels. I understand it was a busy Valentine’s day weekend but the restaurant didn’t seem that busy. We will not be back.

We chose this place for a family dinner, but unfortunately it was very dirty despite the friendly and kind waitress. The mess started right at the entrance — the door was filthy, the laminated menus were sticky and grimy, and we even found old chewing gum stuck under the table from previous guests.
To be fair, the sushi tasted good, and the salmon was fresh and delicious — but the rolls were the smallest I’ve ever seen.
Sadly, we’re not likely to return.
