Overall, I believe this place is a waste of time and energy. All of this is an account of my experience and opinion. The store manager said that my card not working which didn’t get declined is my fault. She said I needed to know how to run my card and tell the waiter. I just felt disappointed when I was told that. She ran my card just fine so why doesn’t she tell the waiters that if one method doesn’t work try another one. But somehow this isn’t a training issue.

It was a very disappointing pick-up experience. The food was ready fast and we ate as soon as it was given to us, The lady on the phone was very nice, hence the star. We ordered 3 different items. Two of them (sushi) shared the same container and looked just thrown in. No big deal if they were the same, however, one was spicy and the other(for the lo) was not, so this is a problem since they were touching and some of the sauces in mine got into his. A much cheaper grocery store sushi bar represents their food beautifully and individually. The rice from the third dish was very salty. The quality of the salad was not good, already turned pink, and the avocado in the sushi was bad so we had to take them out. In general, the quality of some food used was terrible. In Japan, the food is a feast for the eyes and palate, and this was neither represented in any of our dishes, nor on the flavors.

We are from out of town and had no idea that we needed reservations until we got to the door. Lovely spot but we couldn’t eat there because there was no attempt at accommodating our party of 6, mostly very young children. They didn’t have enough staff and that was the reason for the reservations only limitation. No effort in accommodating. I would have expected that they would have given a seat and let us know that they were behind in service. Disappointed and not sure that we would give it a try the next time we visit the area. Even a gift certificate for a dessert would have been a good gesture in customer service

The first time we went to this specific Khanki, our chef was not great, really quiet, quick and the food was not that good. But we just went this Saturday for my husbands birthday and Hector, the chef, was great! He was so friendly, customer service 10/10, made the food and time great, and just made the whole experience welcoming and so different than the first. Food tasted great too! Khanki is our favorite restaurant so the fact that the chef made it a great time will certainly make us want to return to that one.

We visited our nephew at Duke and we let him chose the restaurant. He loves Japanese, as do I, and apparently he is a regular customer. The meal was wonderful. Our cook was generous and made sure we had enough to eat. We truly enjoyed our dinner!

We visited on a Saturday and had an ok experience. We waited an hour and a half for seating although it seemed to be relatively empty inside. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary of hibachi. Seemed the same quality as an express Hibachi. Our server and chef made up for the experience. Our server was prompt and accommodating. The kids loved the show the chef put on. All in all it was a mediocre experience with a higher price tag.
