Hibachi chefs show off their skills at this Japanese spot with an extensive sushi menu.

Had a horrible time here and do NOT recommend. We went for what was supposed to be a fun night out and ended up leaving creeped out and disgusted. Our hibachi chef was clearly impaired in some way, which affected both his cooking and his behavior. He repeatedly called my friend babygirl and kept asking where he could see us after, completely inappropriate and uncomfortable.
He also set our food on fire four separate times (not the fun volcano trick — actual flames on our plate). Our rice was burnt, crispy, and basically inedible. I asked for my steak to be medium and it came out well done. He could not figure out how to portion out the food, giving one person a whole plate of rice and the next getting a little sliver. He also liked to spray yum yum sauce everywhere EXCEPT our plates. Overall, the entire experience was chaotic and unsettling.
The only positive was that the manager was understanding when we brought up our concerns. But something was NOT right here. Very weird vibes and definitely not worth the money or the discomfort.

I have taken my family to Kani House every time we’re in North Georgia for the past 10 years. The staff recognizes us and we love having our chopsticks on the wall behind the sushi bar.
I highly recommend the bento box. It comes with soup, salad, a sushi roll, meat, rice, edamame, veggies, tempura shrimp and sweet potato. A lot of food for the price.
Consistently great food and service. We’re always happy as we walk out.

Kani House delivers some of the best food and dining experiences around. The menu is loaded with favorites—potstickers, dumplings, egg rolls, fresh sushi, and flavorful hibachi with chicken, shrimp, steak, and lobster. The fried rice and noodles are always cooked perfectly, and every dish is consistent in both quality and taste.
Service is attentive, the atmosphere is lively, and the portions are generous. Whether it’s sushi or hibachi, Kani House sets the bar high for Japanese dining.

Had an excellent dinner here for our anniversary. Always sit at the sushi barbecause they usually offer us yummy extras, like fried tuna belly, or mushrooms. Its more quiet at the bar and its fun to watch them make it in front of us. 🙂

The food was very delicious. We had a birthday party at the grill station and our server was very enjoyable and energetic. I had the Galbi and Sukiyoki with fried rice. It also came with a side of mushroom soup and house salad. The teriyaki seasoning really complimented the vegetables.
And the yum yum sauce was the cherry on top.
Overall the food was great and it was great for a birthday. Would probably come back in a group but not by myself.

The drinks were good & the bartender was very nice & provided great service.
The food tasted good, but the beef was very overcooked in both meals.
I had the Sukiyaki Hibachi & the beef was cooked to the point of being dry. The sauce, vegetables & fried rice were good though.
My wife had the Scallops & Flank Steak Combo Hibachi, her Steak was better but cooked Well Done when she ordered Medium Rare. We had had a long rough day, so we just wanted to eat & not go through sending it back to be precooked, so that’s on us, but as slow as the business was that night I don’t think, as a professional Chef that there was an excuse.

First, the food is incredible beautiful! The staff is incredible kind and accommodating. Shout out to Shinji and Sean, the Sushi Chefs! Thry really are authentic Japanese chefs! & OMG do they slay this Yum! Ask Shinji for a taste of the fried Tuna! Almost like a dessert! Hannah Grace is the most attentive wait professional! She made sure we were well fed and food was in point. Super syring people skills. And she makes a Hell of a saki !!! Ask for Hannah Grace! Here are some pics! Enjoy! I have to say This is the best Japanese Steak and Sushi bar by far we have patrons. We have tried so many Japanese restaurants from Texas and across to Georgia. Love one in Tuscaloosa. But Kani House beats them all by far! Enjoy!

My fiance and I love Kani House so much! We love sushi and tried this spot a couple of years ago, whenever we’re wanting a sushi date, this is our first thought and it is always amazing. We always walk right in without an appointment normally for lunch time and we sit down in a booth and get ourselves some sushi, I love the — I think it’s called — Sea Dragon Roll!!! It has eel on top and it’s just really good. They make them all so fresh, I love the miso soup and salad as well that comes with the food if you order a certain $$ # of sushi! I 100% recommend checking out this sushi spot!!!

The Gentleman who cooked for us was so funny. Was like being at a comedy show. And the food was AMAZING.. It was crowded that night so we did have a little bit of a wait. But well worth it.

Overall positive experience, the food is always good and the staff is typically friendly. I will say I wish they would remodel the bathrooms and do something about the floor being so slick.
With that being said, if you’re looking for a good Japanese style restaurant, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
