I had to drive to Knox from Nashville to pick up something for my husband’s work and we stopped by this food hall.. and if you’re questioning if you should to? Do it. Don’t think twice. Specifically, eat here.

Kandilige is absolutely amazing! From the food to the super kind chef! I have never had Ghanaian cuisine before and wow is it good!! SO flavorful. My husband got the rice & ribs and wowsa. Deeeelish!! I got food from somewhere else but I kept stealing bites from his plate. We weren’t able to finish the rice so I am bringing it back home to Nashville to enjoy for lunch because it is that good!
ALSO, most of the menu is Gluten Free!! Seriously such a great spot!!

Wow hold up now here..

Tried this place randomly and went home with big smiles. They are FIRE

The roast lamb is probably the best piece of meat in town no question.

We ordered with side of puff puff and plantains. No joke..the puff puff taste better than the actual other donut places in Kerns.

Star of the show though shockingly was..their fresh made hot salsa. I ate spoonfuls and couldn’t get enough.

One thing to mention though, the host manager of the building (Kerns) needs to do something about their bad music speaker setup here. We’re eating Ghanian food trying to enjoy the great Ghanaian music Kandilige plays…only to be interrupted constantly with their overhead speakers playing annoying Footloose and classic rock tunes at a terrible volume. Guests don’t want to listen to to literally 4 soundtracks at once but anyway..it’s all about the food here and friendly chef serving it up.

Come check it out a new local fav for this local food guide you will love the lamb.

LOVE at first bite! If you haven’t tried Ghanian tood give it a shot. I dont know much about Ghanaian food but I know it tastes so favorable and was cooked well. I’m only sad that I haven’t gotten to try all the items on the menu…. and it is a little pricey but thats Kerns(im sure rent is expensive) in general. I dont regret spending the money though. I got the Lamb and rice jollef and cooked vegetable and enjoyed all of it. I dont know if its because I said it was my first time trying but my plate was very full that it wasnt going to keep closed in the to go box. The spicy red sauce the chef put on top of the lamb and rice – excellent! I suggest asking for extra if you like spicy like I do. I can’t wait to try the other dishes. I wish I got a picture but everyone was eyeballing my plate and asking about what all I got so they can make an order. Thank you.

Visiting and was told the Food Hall was a great place to get food, so I went. I came across Kandilige and the photos shown on the TV’s caught my interest. I have never had Ghanian food before. And let me tell you, its good! I’ve never had Jollof Rice but if this is how it taste, I want it always! I can picture myself eating Jollof with my Gumbo.

AMAZING. The food? Perfect. The service? Outstanding. The owner is so kind and let us try some deserts after eating. He was so friendly and showed us how to eat fufu correctly. Love this place and will definitely be back.

Very authentic, cooked well, and delicious! I tried the lamb and plantains and they were both amazing. The meat was super tender and fell off the bone. Very flavorful. The plantains were crispy and cooked to perfection. Definitely want to come back and try more things!!

I am not one to leave a bad review but I feel like I must. I ordered okra soup the other night. I was almost done with it and I pull out a big piece of metal out of my mouth, I stir the soup around and see another piece of metal in the soup. I stop eating and throw it out. I email the owner with photo proof and all he says is “wow I’ll have to check the oil sorry”. Well hopefully I don’t have a perforated bowel.
