I went here after returning from a trip to Greece and I wanted a gyro. I ordered two gyro meals for my Mom and I. They tasted just like the gyros I had in Greece. The meat was significantly different than what I had in Greece. Here they were ground meat cubes while in Greece, they’re usually shaved off of a spinning rotisserie. But it was still very tasty.

It took a long time to get my order, 20-30 minutes but since there was only one person in the kitchen, I wasn’t bothered by it. The person running the counter and working the grill was very friendly and the food he made was excellent.

The interior of the restaurant isn’t very impressive but I just got my food to-go so it wasn’t a big deal.

I will happily go here again.

Have you ever wanted to waste two hours of your afternoon waiting for mediocre food? Great! This is the place. Each entree took at least 30 minutes to prepare, separately. Not one dish was cooked at the same time!! Even the hummus and grocery bought pitas required extra special attention!! Additionally, if you want a very private and quiet dining experience, look no further!! Three customers were turned away after hearing a 45 minute wait time for food, even though we were the only table seated. Cant ask for a more personalized afternoon 🙂 Be sure not to make a mess on your Sunday best because not a napkin was to be found. Also, the bathroom fit the college vibe as it was most likely cleaned by a frat boy in 2001!!

This is my first time at Kandaka. I was in the mood for something Mediterranean. The customer service was helpful and patient. I bought 2 different combos. It was about a 20 min wait. Every bite was worth it Delicious!

I wish you could smell this review.. I just picked up this food and had to leave a review! I called and was told it would be about 45 minutes so they could cook my food FRESH! Fine with me!
When I arrived the kind gentlemen was just finishing up my order. He was kind and quick! I think my total came to about $13.75. The second I got my food in the car I was ready to dig in because it smelled so good. I got home and immediately dug in! I got the chicken shawarma combo and it came with fries and naan. AMAZING! This food is so good. It was hot, flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The fries have a tasty seasoning on them that makes them go well with the chicken. I will be back for sure! Hopefully this review makes you try it! Happy to support a wonderful local business with quality food. Now I’m going to have to fight off my dogs because they had a small bite and they also loved it.

I ordered through chomp two days ago, and went in person for take out today. The food was *that* good! Both times I got the gyro and kebab. So much food! Amazing flavors and textures! I’ll be back!

The best experience at a Sudanese restaurant — absolutely the best in everything: service, taste, and quality. I highly recommend trying it as soon as possible. You won’t regret it!

I went with my son because I had heard that this place was good. We arrived, looked at the menu and ordered chicken shawarma, a gyro sandwich and mixed kabob. I don’t know if it was because the counter guy heard me talking about the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen or what but my chicken shawrarma was a tortilla with pieces of dry chicken and nothing else. The gyro had no sauce at all and the mixed kabob was ok. We were not impressed.
Update: Now that Saj Grill has opened there is no reason at all to go to Kandaka
