I went for lunch with friends at this Indian eatery. There were several sitting options, and the interior design and atmosphere were excellent. The staffs were very polite and helpful in selecting food. Additionally, you can ask them to adjust the amount of spiciness based on your tolerance. The waiting time wasn’t particularly lengthy. The food (or beverage) exactly meets its description. Each dish we ordered was prepared with fresh ingredients and had a unique flavor with a well-balanced blend of spices. Also, the presentation of the dishes was too lovely to be a visual feast.
The items we tasted were as follows:
Beverage- Mango Lassi, Green & Spicy, Imli Tango, Beer
Appetizer- Samosa
House Dishes- Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Platter (Salad, Soup, Basmati rice, Naan Bread)
Classic- Chicken Biriyani (Naan Bread)
Accompaniment- Papadum, Mango Chutney
Our overall experience was very good.
To be honest, not really sure what I ordered for food. Just went with whatever KAT recommended. She put me on some sort of VEGETARIAN dish! I do like to think of myself as experimentally inclined but this was certainly OUT there for me.
Oh boy, am I glad I listened! That cheese curd thing I scarfed down with the NAAN and that RICE was truly some life changing stuff, man. So GOOD! Honestly, I may give the whole vegetarian thing a try in the future, who knows.
What I do know is the THREE cocktails that I washed my meal down with were SPECTACULAR! Don’t remember their menu specific names, but those were for sure some TASTY drinks, ESPECIALLY that mai tai variation…
DEFINITELY check this place out, I know I will be coming back for more!
Update post meal: I don’t think I’ve ever thrown out Indian leftovers before :/
The naan is absolutely delicious. I usually order korma and/or shrimp appetizer and cauliflower appetizer. Our excellent waiter recommended a new appetizer to try, which we loved. We were too stuffed for dessert, but this is one of the few Indian restaurants where the dessert actually tempted me. It was our first time to sit inside the restaurant since covid and they nicely spread out all the customers. Sorry to say, but the other Indian restaurants in town can’t hold a candle to Kanak!
