Reviews
I came to this restaurant for dinner with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, we read the reviews after arriving, where several people mentioned unsanitary conditions, including roaches. That should have been our first red flag.
We were seated quickly, but the service and food were extremely disappointing. When the waitress came to take our drink order, she stated they only had three fountain options. We both ordered Sprite, but she returned with only one and said they had run out. I then ordered a ginger ale, which was just as bad—completely flat and unpleasant. We eventually settled for sweet tea, which was also tasteless.
While ordering our food, I specifically asked if the chicken teriyaki and sushi combo came with rice. The waitress confirmed that it came with fried rice. However, when the food arrived, there was no rice at all. When I addressed this, I was told I could get rice on the side for an additional charge, which was unacceptable given what we were originally told.
The food itself lacked flavor, and the overall environment made it hard to enjoy our meal. Fruit flies were present throughout our dining experience, which was extremely off-putting. On top of that, we felt rushed the entire time. Our waitress came to the table every five minutes asking if we were okay, making it clear we were being hurried to eat and leave.
To make matters worse, the restaurant’s health grade was not posted anywhere. Had it been visible, we would not have chosen to eat here. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend this restaurant.
My last time ordering with this company it sucks !!!
The. They don’t even put your meal together for you it all separate which sucks !!!!!
Choose another Hibachi’s this isn’t it!!!
2/19/26.. A wasted $54.00!!!!
The new owner is super nice and the new look/ features are beautiful however sadly we won’t be back due to the lack of experience and quality.
I recently visited after the remodel and was surprised to see the conveyor belt concept added to the sushi bar area. While I understand the intention to modernize, the change significantly altered the vibe that made this place special. It feels less personal and more transactional.
Additionally, some of my usual menu items looked and tasted different than before. The presentation and flavor weren’t what I’ve come to expect over the years.
My biggest concern is freshness with the conveyor belt system, especially during slower hours. Sushi quality and turnover are extremely important, and I hope management ensures strict timing and temperature standards.
I genuinely hope Kampai finds a balance between innovation and the original atmosphere that made so many of us loyal customers. The services was very nice though.
The the server was nice but could tell she was still learning which I didn’t have a problem with. The issue came when an older lady I assume was a manager or owner came by to scream and yell at my date who didn’t know not to put the lid to the plate back on the revolving sushi. There’s a better way to interact with guest, especially when they are new to the experience.
