My sister and I ate here for the first time Friday evening. When we arrived we were told the wait time would be about 30 minutes. It is a small family run business. We were seated before 30 min. The staff was courteous and the restaurant was clean and quaint. There are many choices on the menu to choose from. I had the Poke Bowl, my sister had two different sushi rolls along with the cucumber/avocado salad. It was the best I have had! Tasty, fresh, large pieces of marinated fish and seafood.I could not eat the entire bowl, so I brought the rest home. My sister said it was the best sushi she has had in a very long time. We both highly recommend and will return soon!

6pm on Saturday night and the place was empty. This should have been our first clue. Do not recommend if you love Japanese sushi. This ain’t it. It’s Americanized with all the sauces to cover up the fact that the fish is not fresh and poor quality.

This is probably the best sushi that I’ve had in Tucson since I’ve been here. The portions were huge, the flavors were good and the food was extremely fresh. The spicy tuna roll could have used a little bit more spice but was really good. The agadashi tofu was very light and tasty. The poke bowl salad was absolutely ginormous and worth the $23. But like most sushi places, it does come out of price. I think it’s worth it though for a really good fresh sushi.

This family-run and operated restaurant continues to turn out excellent Sushi as well as cooked entrees. Owners Jenny and David continue to work full-time in making absolutely wonderful dishes in a friendly, family environment. Delicious food at reasonable prices!

I’ve been eating at Sushi Bars for over 28 years. Kampai Sushi would rate among my top 10 Shushi Bars in all of Arizona. Truthfully I haven’t had fish that fresh in probably 15 years. Every piece of sushi I had melted in my mouth including squid and octopus. I rate there rice the number one best I ever had.

Staff is very friendly and attentive. We’ve never had a wait even with a party of 6 on a Friday night. The food is always so fresh and delicious! Large TVs for sports viewing and I recommend you Try the coarse filtered Sake. Good stuff!

Great place to dine. Always love sitting at the bar where they make the sushi. This place has a great atmosphere, kind employees. Spacious and very cool. Just might be my new sushi spot.
