Solo dinner on a Wednesday night. I was quickly accommodated as a single diner and invited to join a table with a small family of guests.
My dinner and a show was outstanding, I had filet mignon cooked to a perfect medium rare while I watched our chef smash eggs, fry rice, and prepare our dinner.

Had a great time at Kampai celebrating my birthday! Our hibachi chef was amazing! I was treated like royalty! I got my name on the sign, an origami crane, and everyone sang happy birthday to me while our chef lit an onion volcano with a sparkler after twirling it around. (There was also a heart made of rice involved, love it!) Me and my 6 friends ordered sushi as appetizers, and all of the rolls came out super quickly before our meals. Everyone said their’s was delicious. Our entrees were great as well. The Dynamite Roll is definitely my favorite. A must try! Our waitress was also very attentive, always filling our water glasses when needed and taking dirty plates away. Thank you Kampai for making my birthday so special!

Had a great experience all the way through. It was easy from the time reservations were made right through till the time we were all done and leaving the place. The servers were great The Hibachi chefs were amazing! The food was great and all of the staff was very courteous and friendly. Definitely a family friendly restaurant.
Had a party of 17 for the wife’s birthday and everything was just fantastic. It was dinner and a show. Very entertaining & very enjoyable!!! I would highly recommend. We look forward to our return visit!!!!

This place is so enjoyable! From the hibachi chefs, food && to the head staff. Was thoroughly entertained during the entire dining experience. The chef was silly && the waiter was very kind. With how many people are seated at a table it’s very impressive how they can memorize each individual orders. The food was so good. From the sushi to the entrees. I ordered shrimp && scallops. As a first time scallop eater it was even better than expected. I also got the cutest tempura fried ice cream w/ sparklers. While we were waiting to leave the restaurant I believe we were approached by the head staff/head chef/owner”. He asked if it was my birthday. When I responded yes he gave my party of 4 Sake bombs on the house! Even accommodated to my dislike of beer. Such a lovely restaurant. Will be back for my next birthday 🙂

We visited this place while we were coming back from Nigara falls and absolutely love the vibe and atmosphere! I want to appreciate about the fact that being a steakhouse, they had quite lots of veg options as well. I absolutely enjoyed their veg sushi platter. We also tried the teriyaki chicken which was the yummiest i have ever had. Found the tofu with vegs and noodles a little bland for our taste. The only things that disappointed us was the desert and slow service. Overall, if you are sushi fan, you should definitely checkout their sushi menu!

Kampai is such a gem on the Vestal High street. We visited for Hibachi. The service is great, the chefs are attentive. The food is fresh, affordable, and tastes delicious.
Everything was delicious but we were pleasantly surprised how good the hibachi tofu was! For the price the portions are so good as well.
Highly recommend!
