Serious Concern Regarding Food Safety – Visit on 24th Feb

I visited Kampai on 24th Feb for dinner. I have dined with you several times before and have generally had positive experiences.

To begin with, the ambience was pleasant and maintained the premium feel the restaurant is known for. The service, while courteous, did take a little longer than expected when trying to get a waiter’s attention, but it was manageable. The food itself tasted good during the visit.

However, the most serious concern arose after we left.

Both my colleague and I experienced stomach illness shortly after dining at the restaurant. This caused considerable discomfort and inconvenience. Regardless of how good the food tastes or how appealing the setting is, food safety is non-negotiable. It is a fundamental expectation when dining out.

As repeat customers, this was particularly disappointing and has left a very negative impression. An experience like this significantly impacts trust, and without confidence in food safety, it becomes difficult to consider returning.

I hope you treat this matter with urgency, review your food handling and hygiene standards, and take appropriate corrective action.

Kampai offers a decent ambiance with a relaxed, modern Japanese vibe. The sushi was definitely the highlight — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, the matcha didn’t work for me— could be the flavor profile just isn’t to my palate. Service was okay, not particularly warm or attentive. Overall, a good spot for sushi lovers, though there’s room for improvement in other aspects.

It’s one of the best Asian Restaurant in South Delhi ♥️ . The ambience is really very pretty and looks like it’s straight from Japan. If I talk about the F&B they’re literally top notch. A must visit place for all

At Aerocity, Delhi, Kampai was our preferred choice for Japanese cuisine. Fortunately, the restaurant provided a serene ambiance, enabling our friends to engage in private conversations without any interruptions. The starters were exceptional, particularly the prawn tempura and the sushi spreads. They were delectable and left us with a satisfying palate. However, consuming twelve pieces of sushi on a single plate proved to be a challenging task, followed by a substantial portion of ramen and chicken kastsu curry. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience, offering near-authentic Japanese cuisine that left us content.

We recently dined at Kampai Restaurant, excited to try their sushi and ramen. While the sushi was delicious, we found it to be a bit too thin. Our main reason for visiting was to enjoy a ramen bowl, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations in terms of taste.

The ambiance was good, offering a pleasant dining atmosphere. However, one downside was the presence of a lot of mosquitoes, which affected our overall experience.

While the restaurant has potential, we feel there’s room for improvement, especially in terms of food quality and comfort.

An up-market place for japanese food lovers with traditional seating, offered for large groups.

Coming straight to the food, we ordered prawn tempura, prawn gyoza, potato croquettes and wontons. Every starter was lip smacking.

After this came the main course which was shoyu ramen and stir fried vegetables noodles which again tasted great.

Overall a good visit but then it’s aerocity so prices will be on the higher side.

The food was bland and did not feel authentic at all. The interiors were good but if you want to have good Japanese food there are better places around. Only good thing was the live music

Wow! I usually eat fish but I told myself I would stick to a vegetarian diet while in India so I ordered the veg dynamite roll. Honestly it was one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had! I was so surprised that a sushi roll without fish could taste so good! All of the veggies complimented each other well and the cream cheese put it all together. The soy sesame sauce they serve on the side is incredible and the ginger is extra spicy just like traditional Indian ginger. 5/5 stars. It was a little on the pricey side but it’s a very upscale restaurant. An 8 piece sushi roll was about 1200 rupees. (I got takeout so the attached photo is from my hotel)

Came here one night for dinner and the food was great. We noticed they had unlimited sushi and dim sum during the week and decided to come back for that. This place is a bit pricey but very delicious so I would recommend unlimited to get more bang for your buck. It mon.-sat. 12-4. However, I was a bit disappointed that the unlimited sushi was limited to 6 rolls. And most of them had cream cheese which I don’t like. So I was limited to 2 types of sushi. There’s plenty of other items on the menu and my husband and son ate a lot of those items and enjoyed them all. All food is delicious, staff is friendly, and bathrooms are clean.
