What a gem of a restaurant! When we mentioned we were heading to Sussex, someone immediately told us there was a great sushi restaurant. We went to check it out- they were full and we had to wait 20 minutes. Once we sat down- excellent, thoughtful service! They brought complimentary dumplings for the wait- they were delicious. We ordered some hand rolls and combos. Everything was phenomenal: the salad, the miso soup, the fish was impeccable. They made their own soy sauce and we licked the bowls clean! I’m only sorry we didn’t save room for dessert. Four of us ate for less than $100 (no drinks). Honestly- this restaurant is a true gem. A surprise. The best meal we’ve eaten in a long time. My husband (a chef) loves to find fault- instead he was full of superlatives. We should have gone back again our second night. Instead now we have to go back to Sussex. Thank you for a truly outstanding meal!

Just had omakase at Kame No Mori and it completely blew me away. I’ve had sushi all over the world and this was the best quality-to-price experience I’ve ever had!

The fish quality was unreal, you could taste how fresh everything was. And their house-made soy sauce was very tasty and unique.

They were fully booked when I got there and even comped a beautiful seared piece of tuna for the wait — such a classy touch.

Can’t wait to come back. Sussex is very lucky to have this place!

With help from their amazing staff, we had a lovely dinner here at Kame no Mori! We got a whole plethora of sushi to try, and it was all so delicious. The salmon here is buttery and soft, and you can tell the people here put effort both into picking ingredients and making the rolls themselves. Not to mention, our waitress Erika was really polite and attentive, and it just made the experience 10x better! Best sushi in NB so far, and their gyoza is so amazing I can’t even describe it.

I’ve been on the hunt for decent sushi after moving to NB from Vancouver 3 years ago. The search has ended. This is the best sushi I have ever had and it’s located in the middle of Sussex !!! The sushi was phenomenal. So fresh and the flavours were actual perfection ! 10out or 10 food, service, and vibe! I have found my new favourite place.

We stopped here on our way back to Moncton from a quick trip to Saint John. Simply put, these are the best sushis we have had in a long time with some unique options not necessarily always available in sushi places across the province (sushi as tuna belly and octopus). The fish is impeccably fresh and everything is prepared to order by sushi masters.

Service was very attentive and fast. Atmosphere is very basic but you really come here for the quality of the food served.

We will most certainly make an exception to either stop when we travel in the area or drive from Moncton just to enjoy the wonderful food served here.

We had a lovely lunch at this small sushi restaurant. Probably some of the best sushi in NB but not in Canada. Service was friendly, they brought us the wrong item and offered it to us free of charge. We were slightly disappointed they didn’t have fatty tuna but maybe next time. We do recommend stopping in next time you are in Sussex.

Absolutely delicious food. Our group ordered:

-Nigiri 1 piece – taco (octopus)
-Yasai roll futomaki (4 piece) *vegan
-Garlic shrimp nigiri special (4 piece)
-Kame Combo (8 pieces)
-Ebiten (8 piece) roll
-Karage-Don
-Kitsune udon *vegan

We loved everything. The favourite seafood was the garlic shrimp and the BBQ eel and the two people who got karage-Don loved it.

*For vegan options: there are more options than just these two. They provided vegan soy sauce because the soy sauce they make in-house is not vegan. The miso soup is also not vegan.

One small recommendation: For the kitsune udon, I wish there were more pieces of tofu in it because it was so good. Or maybe next time I will just have to order it and ask for extra tofu.

The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful when recommending what to order. The food was so fast! Even the hot dishes only took about 10 minutes or less.

There are not many tables, so if you are driving out of town (like we did) or want to be sure you get a table, I’d recommend making a reservation.

We will definitely come again! Thank you.
