You have to come here! My husband and I loved everything we ate. Our 5 year old got the kids chicken teriyaki w. the california roll. It’s a big portion, you might even be able to split this between two younger kids if you wanted. We all ended up trying the Cali Roll and loved it. Our 10 year old ordered the Nabe Udon. It’s definitely big enough to share as well. The waitress was kind enough to bring us two extra bowls and spoons. The broth was AMAZING. We also had the gyoza, and the dragon eye roll. The dragon eye roll was absolutely delicious. The service was also great. All of the waitresses that worked there were very nice and did a great job of checking on us.

I thought I’d give this place another try because my preferred Sushi joint in town was closed. Google maps said they were open ’till 9:30 this Saturdaynight.. I walked in at 9:05. The place is usually packed, but tonight, hree of the dozen or so tables were occupied with rolls on the table.
I pulled up and sat at the bar like I always do to see what looked fresh and interesting,..meh. I’m a Nigiri/Sashimi guy and wasn’t that impressed the last time i was there a week ago.
The server asked me, “one?”, then told me to take a table as opposed to the bar because they needed to clean up?
I took a table expecting to see a menu, but instead was asked if i could order quickly because they were going to close soon.
I asked her how she could expect me to order without a menu??
I left and won’t come back.

My family and I had a delightful dining experience at Kamakura Japanese Restaurant in Los Gatos, and we were particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment. The dining area was spotless, with tables and chairs meticulously arranged and free of any debris. The floors were well-maintained, and the overall ambiance was inviting and comfortable. The restrooms were also exceptionally clean, which added to our positive experience.

The staff at Kamakura took great care in ensuring that all surfaces were regularly sanitized, and we noticed them frequently cleaning high-touch areas. This attention to detail made us feel safe and well-cared for during our visit. The presentation of the food was also impeccable, with each dish served on clean and attractive tableware. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant contributed significantly to our enjoyment of the meal.

In addition to the cleanliness, the quality of the food and the friendly service made our visit to Kamakura a memorable one. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a clean and welcoming dining environment with delicious Japanese cuisine.

The rice was overcooked! Even the simplest rolls looked as if they were thrown together blindfolded. Honestly, it felt like the place wanted to get rid of its customers rather than feed them. And the baked mussels? A culinary trap — steer clear at all costs.

Their sashimi has a huge potion and the fish is very fresh. Their rolls are also have great taste. Service is fine.

Summer 2021. Walking with my husband along Santa Cruz ave. to have lunch in another restaurant and we decided to change the option: The almost 93F were perfect for sushi. We sat outside under the gallery ordered Edamame, Hawaiian poke California roll and Philadelphia roll. The service was fast and smiling, the prices were good. I highly recommend this place, probably coming back this weekend.

Sushi was very good. Sat outside on a beautiful spring day. Service was very fast. They had my roll out within about 4 minutes. Couldn’t believe it. Sashimi was great, too, but the pieces were personally too big for me to eat. Should have been cut in half. Having said that, I’ll go back next time I want sushi in Los Gatos. Give it a try and judge for yourself.

It was very crowded on a nice Saturday afternoon, both indoor and outdoor seating was packed but they quickly found us a table! I had their traditional Jaoanese Bento box with Saba Shioyaki & Salmon Sashimi combo and my husband enjoyed the Sashimi Sampler.

The food was delicious. The fried oysters were served fresh out of the frying pan. Very good presentation of the food, we like coming here for a quick bite and/or dinner.
