Also — SF has the oldest Chinatown in the US so it’s worth visiting the area and getting some freshly cooked sesame balls around the area after this meal!
Authentic throw down
cooking of meats, veggies, soup and more in a bare bones atmosphere.
These street corner restaurants are where you find the best home style cooking.
The nice lady named Ho was so kind and helpful with food suggestions and the cook who didn’t have much to say just threw down and prepared some great food.
This place is a must stop and eat in SF.
Be sure to arrive on an empty stomach so you can indulge.
We decided to go with her suggestions and ended up getting 2 combos with rice and a veggie dish. Everything was super delicious. The veggies were fresh and nicely stir fried. All of the meats were super good but especially the char siu (bbq pork) which was the best I ever had. It was super juicy and flavorful. The rice plates were huge portions, we had to take the rest to go.
Overall, this is a great place to visit and the food was delicious. They only take cash!
Yes, you might pay a little more than expected—but that’s the tourist premium, and honestly, it’s worth every cent. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the food speaks for itself.
Everything we tried was delicious, but the standout was definitely the soup with Char Siu Pork which was rich, flavorful, and absolutely phenomenal.
Highly recommend!
Priced very well and cheap for the amount of food you get. Owner/chef knew what he was doing.
pork over rice was $18.50
Wanton noodles was $13.50
Vegetable was $18.50
What a RIP OFF!!!!!
