Mabuhay! Canton sorely needed a fresh new spot to stand out in a sea of burgers and chicken. Kalye scratches that itch with some delicious Filipino flavors! I got the lumpia (fried egg rolls), fresh lumpia, lechon kawail, and bbq pork skewers. Food was quite tasty! You can tell they make everything fresh here! Place is family-owned and the owner has his family involved in running the restaurant. Go show them some love and try something new and different!

Everything we ordered was delicious and tasted homemade.The crispy lechon kawali was golden and crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and dipped in Mang Tomas sauce— One bite and you’re hooked. This is the kind of meal that makes you slow down and enjoy every bite.The lumpiang shang hai is so good. Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and fair prices. Highly recommend!”

I am glad I decided to come back after my first attempt on opening day resulted in me driving off in disappointment cuz the line was lined up out the door and I had an appointment to get to. My first actual dine in visit, I ordered the bbq pork and it didn’t disappoint. It was flavorful and filling. The soup that came with my order brought back memories of the soup my mom used to make. I left so full that I didn’t get a chance to partake in the halo halo. With that said I came back the next day for the halo halo and it was really good. Since was here I decide to grab some food to take home for dinner. I got the kalbi and it was just as good as the Korean version I grew up with back in Hawaii. I had to try the pancit too while I was here and it was delicious too. I even got to try the eggplant, the coating on it really brought out the flavors and the banana ketchup really kicked it up a notch. I’ll definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
1/3/26 – Came back today with my friend who is also from Hawaii. Figured he would enjoy some of the flavors we missed from home. My buddy got the Long-si-log and I got the Sisig Plate. While we waited for our order we were offered an empanada. Wasn’t expecting the sweetness to come from the flaky crust but it paired nicely with the savory filling. The Long-si-log was very flavorful, glad my buddy shared some with me. If you like a sausage with a bit of sweetness and full of flavor you wouldn’t expect from a sausage, I highly recommend it. The saltiness of the Sisig was just right and with rice it went hand-in-hand and kind of reminded me of hash from the South. We finished off our meal with a halo-halo each and that really hit the spot. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Kalye Filipino Restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is authentic, flavorful, and tastes like true Filipino home cooking. Everything was fresh and well-seasoned, and the portions were generous. The sisig, bbq, and lumpia are absolute fire!! All hot, fresh, and packed full of flavor!! I couldn’t form words while eating it lol. Also the owners are the best!! Ended up hanging out for several hours chatting with them. Do yourself a favor and just go! I’m going back again tomorrow

We were really sad to learn that Kusinera has closed, but we were so happy to discover that the space is now run by new owners who welcomed us like family. The service felt warm and personal, with kuyas who were attentive, friendly, and genuinely happy to have us there.
We ordered the sisig, chicken inasal, and pork barbecue—and every bite tasted like home. Of course, we had extra rice. We ate too much and didn’t have room for dessert, which we honestly felt bad about—but that just gives us a good reason to come back soon.
