This is exactly the place you need to go if you care about wonderful people and wonderful food. The owner is so sweet and immediately made me feel at home. I live in pensacola florida and ate there with my partner at 1130 tonight. Forget all these big chains, its not worth it. Have Woon Dae is one of the best restaurants ive had in Atlanta. I will be back not only for the food but for the wonderful person that helped us.

5-Star Review: An Unforgettable Korean BBQ Experience!
I just had the most incredible dinner at this hidden gem of a Korean BBQ spot, and I can’t stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, the old-school vibe hit me in the best way—cozy, authentic, with that classic grill-at-your-table setup that feels like stepping into a timeless Korean eatery. No frills, just pure charm and the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling meats filling the air.
The service was hands-down the best I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant—attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we had an amazing meal. Our server guided us through the menu, refilled banchan endlessly, and even helped grill everything to perfection. It felt like dining with family!
We ordered the spicy pork (perfectly fiery and tender), classic bulgogi (sweet, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious), and their signature kalbi—oh my gosh, it was the star of the show! Those marinated short ribs were incredibly flavorful, charred just right with that signature smoky sweetness that Korean BBQ is famous for. Paired with all the amazing sides—fresh kimchi, pickled veggies, and so many more banchan that kept coming—it was a feast for the senses.
Everything was fresh, portioned generously, and cooked flawlessly. This place nails authentic Korean BBQ while delivering top-tier hospitality. If you’re craving real-deal KBBQ with heart and soul, run don’t walk here. I’ll be back soon—10/10, highly recommend!

Just left this restaurant and all I will say is if you are a black person; you will not be welcomed here. We attempted to eat here for my nephews birthday. He really wanted to try Korean food. We walked in and quite frankly the place is run down. Pictures do not reflect the atmosphere. We never received any greeting just a finger pointed to the table to sit. The woman never introduced herself so. She slide the menus on the table and walked off. She was complete pleasant to the Asian family and came to our table and we had to talk. My sister asked her to assist as none of our party has had Korean before. She proceeded to be very vague in her limited explanation. We did not order and left. WE WERE NOT WELCOMED AND IT SHOWED!!

I’m a foodie and love all types of cuisines so I was interested to try this place I had recently heard of. I stopped by with a friend this afternoon before making the ride back home to Augusta and wow what an experience! From the moment I stepped in the owner and his sister showered us with the best of hospitality. From what I learned the owner (John) handles the business side of things and his sister handles everything in the kitchen and all of the recipes are of her design. I’ve been to KBBQ places before but none like this. Not only did they provide a vast selection of exquisite meats far above what I’ve had at other places they also helped me understand their story. The sister who did the cooking explained how to best enjoy each meat we had by using the customary lettuce wraps along with certain accompanying items to create the best small bite imaginable. Each meat was perfectly seasoned and the balance of flavors was superb. They were also cooked perfectly. Everything was juicy tender and extremely flavorful. All of the accompanying dishes like the bean curd, various kimchi types, sprouts and even the sauces were on point. I could literally taste the love in each bite and as I learned more and more about the culture and the “right way” to enjoy the meal it got better and better. I almost forgot to mention the vegetable pancake. It was different than any i’ve ever had and very very delicious. I’m already planning another trip back into Atlanta and this stop will definitely be on the agenda. Great job guys!! Thanks for making my first visit special and for making me feel like my patronage mattered! Highly recommend!

What a joke!!!! This place was empty except for us – the food was just ok, definitely not worth the ridiculous prices!!! $14.95 for a bottle of beer? And the service was the worst we ever had. Server had a super nasty attitude. Not sure why all the good reviews but as a Korean-American I am disappointed and will never be back! Horrible all around

This place has been here over 30 years and is the most authentic kbbq spot in Atlanta. The owner cooked gave us a room, showed us how to eat, and served my party of 6 with 10/10 service. Not many other kbbq spots have lettuce wraps but she showed us the best way to make them. The owners brother, John, was an excellent help in deciding what we should order. I will be returning with my friends and family!

Traditional KBBQ!! It was amazing. Female founder taught us about the food and it was so delicious. One of the only traditional places around. Short ribs and spicy pork were amazing!! Definitely go!

We had a great family dinner here! It was delicious, authentic, and unlike any Korean BBQ we have had in the area. It is family run and we enjoyed speaking with the owners- both of whom were super friendly and hospitable. We can’t wait to come back!

I used to be a regular at this restaurant long time ago but after a few recent bad experiences, I will not be back. The older lady serving us was talking on the phone the entire time we were there, even while taking our order!!! I thought that was absolutely ridiculous. She came back to double check and then triple check our order (while STILL on the phone) because she didn’t pay attention the first time we ordered. And the order still came out wrong…. One of the banchan dishes were spoiled (bean sprouts should NOT be sour), and she completely ignored us when I brought it to her attention. And sure enough, hours later, we both had a terrible stomach ache…
