Worth it! Do you see how full my plate is? Teri chicken with Sweet spicy chicken and 4 sides, it was sooooo good. I used to go to L&L but they are so rude and don’t even say thank you. In comparison the service here was excellent!

Got a spicy chicken and shrimp tempura combo with kimchi, glass noodles, sprouts and cabbage. Came with a side of rice. The chicken was good and cooked perfectly. The sides were bland and could do more seasoning. Kimchi was disappointing. Special mention to the white woman on the register who probably hasn’t seen a brown person before. Checking me out from top to bottom and very rude. Needs to learn manners or not get into customer service and sit at home.

Good people, bad value. I splurged for the Kalbi combo with meat jun. For a $20 plate lunch, I expected better quality and, for a place called kalbi express, their portion was small and was like eating rubber bands in sauce. Three very small pieces. The meat jun was decent but both were small portions. Don’t bother with the kalbi, just grab a piece of leather and chew on it.

I got the BBQ & fish Jun compo, flavor was good But as with many places the beef was rubbery/chewy!! it’s a hit or miss here sometimes very tender, this last time some of the was rubbery I’ll go back but will not be ordering the BBQ beef! The sides could be more flavorful!

The Kalbi combo was a disappointing lunch- for ~$18 the kalbi quality was not good (thin, stringy fat, no char marks, and a small portion for the price); the japchae was soggy. The chicken katsu and sides were reasonable. Overall, I cannot recommend this place and there are other plate lunch options in Hilo that have better quality and value.

Got the spicy pork plate! It was delicious and soo flavorful. I just didn’t like the side dishes. The potatoes are kinda bland, the noodles are soggy, I’m sure other sides dishes are better

July 3, 2025 I got so sick, ended up in the ER, ruined my 3-day weekend and lost 3 days of work. The source was confirmed when my co-worker also got sick. Prior to this I loved the food, but not the prices – lately have gone out the roof.

Food was fine, but it is a damned shame that everything this restaurant serves on-premise is contained in styrofoam — especially from the perspective that this is on an island ridden from the Pacific Trash Gyre, which ravages the Southern end of this island with meters of plastic particulate accumulation.

The food had no taste at all. I spent $22 on a regular plate of BBQ chicken and Meat Jun, Tell me why I was more full on a mc Donald’s meal then this. I came here once, gave it another try this time, and I wont be back again. The service was really blah its like the girl didn’t even want to be at work.
Overall, don’t waste your time on food that doesn’t have any heart in it.
