My review is just about the tacos since I only order on special taco Tuesday and it’s always for takeout. So far every time I’ve order their meats are pretty fresh as well as their salsas/pico de gallo/condiments. As for the portions it’s like a hit and miss sometimes they add good portions of meats to your tacos and sometimes they skimp on the meat also is the reason for 3 stars but whether they skimp or not the food is always fresh so I’m good with that.

Very eager to please staff who seem to take ownership of the place, as if they invested their entire fortune hoping to succeed. Well, the owner must feel fortunate to have these kinds of staff and I hope the business will grow well for everyone involved to be blessed too. The food was great, tasty, true to the Mexican flavor and tradition, a good amount of servings and the interior arrangement is refined. My wife and I got the lunch special and the price was good. Try this place. I can’t say about the evening offerings but it has a bar.

Saw their Tuesday Taco $1.49 special and pretty decent Happy Hour menu so we went and tried it. The weekly specials looked interesting as well. $8 dollar special margaritas and various food specials are good. We had the normal tacos, Asada, barbacoa and pork belly. Also had their Quesabirria as well which is normal. Taco special was small but the condiments bar is amble of selections. The salsas were quite spicy! They don’t mess around with the margaritas! Loaded with Tequila and choice of mixes. Pretty tasty. Other items on the menu u looks good but a bit pricey.

All the issues stem from the fact that Kalaveras is just playing their music too loud. Wait staff made several mistakes on our orders simply because they couldn’t hear us over the music. The supervisor stopped by our table and asked how things were going. Told him other than the music being too loud and affecting the service everything was as well as could be expected. If you want to enjoy this place, just go for lunch. otherwise, you can’t do anything their but stare at each other. Too bad..the Kali Burrito I had for $19 was good, but the only way I’d get in the future is to go. My family and neighbors had high hopes for this place since it’s really close, and the Covina Chamber of Commerce really promoted the restaurant chain coming to town. If I ever go deaf or lose most of my hearing, I’ll give it another go. Never take any reviewer as gospel. Try it yourself. You’ll know your close when you can hear the music while still inside your car when you’re parking. If you like their music you can hear it well from next door at In N Out Burger.

Was hesitatant but gave it a try and was well worth the time! Went on a Wednesday evening and was sat immediately. Place was fresh with AC and clean. Plenty of seats; booth was comfy for 2. Tried the beef, birria and carnitas tacos. Asada fries and queso fundido. All were tasty and well seasoned. Food came out nice and hot. Salsa was flavorful but not too spicy. Prices for weekday happy hour, both food and drinks were great. We will be returning!

The food is amazing, and the portions and sides are great. The atmosphere is quite loud with tons of tvs playing music videos (the same one across the screens) but the vibe fits the restaurant and in spite of the music volume I had no issues hearing everyone at my table. My friend ordered a specific beer that ran out when they were pouring it so they had him order something else but still gave him what was left of his first choice (about half a glass), without charging him for it which I thought was a nice gesture. I absolutely plan on coming back and trying the rest of the menu!

The place isn’t just for you’re normal eating out. I guess it’s good if you’re going with friends out to get drinks or something. It is not kid friendly whatsoever. It’s very loud I couldn’t hear anything I couldn’t even talk with my husband the whole time cuz we couldn’t hear each other. The food was ok nothing to be crazy about. Again I wouldn’t say it’s a place to take a young family. They had sexual music video playing the whole time. I didn’t really feel comfortable cuz I had my child with me

This looks amazing. I love the decor. Food is bomb and customer service is on point. The fried plantains were incredible. I should have grabbed some to go. Came for lunch and going back for dinner.

We had seen their signs advertising Taco Tuesday and wanted to try out the restaurant. Kalaveras was very busy and we had a short wait for the table. First the food. The chips and salsa were quite good. We ordered guacamole to go along with the tacos. The quac was a healthy portion at $15. The $.99 tacos were the 4 inch street style and there was a self serve condiment bar. Nothing was labeled so it was a guess when it came to the 3 salsa options. I tried all three and found one that I enjoyed. The steak and chicken tacos had good flavors. The dining area has a cool night club vibe with velvet chairs. The music was so loud I would also compare it to a night club, 95+ decibels. Which made it almost impossible to have a conversation without practically yelling. I asked one of the servers if the sound seemed loud and they said it was uncomfortable to them too, but they got used to it. Normally I would say that the food would bring me back, but given that I had ringing in my ears by the time we left I don’t think we will return. If you like night club level music and good food this is your place.

Such great food, Wonderful customer service from everyone and delicious drinks. My friend ordered the Wet burrito & she loved it. I order the quesa birria tacos and they were deliciousssss! The lime slushie drink is great! Just go you wont regret it! Great music & great for celebrating birthdays !
