We swung by the Pike Outlets and saw this nice Mexican restaurant on Pine Ave in front of the Long Beach Convention center. The place was packed still at 2:45 so must be a good place to eat. We were seated immediately when we came in but really looked busy at this time. We ordered the Wet Burritos for me and my wife from a nice waitress named Linda that was eager to take our orders. Ambiance carried a Peruvian design but since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching they have a welcoming backdrop of a Valentine themed wall at the entrance for you to take a picture of. The atmosphere inside are composed of locals and people visiting the outlet stores. They have a sweet person roaming around taking pictures if you liked the pictures. Our orders came in 15 minutes prepared and presented nicely! We will definitely come back for more when we are in town. Oh by the way you should also visit their bathrooms; men’s has a jungle theme and the women’s have a Valentine theme.

ALL THE DRINKS were delicious highly recommend. As for the food well the chicken enchiladas were really good even the rice and beans that came with them. However the queso birria tacos were a bit too soggy when their best a bit crunchy. The meat was dry even when trying to dip it in the sauce it broke every time. No onions were serve with it just cilantro, radish, & some hot sauce. The tacos governabor were also way too soggy. Hardly was given cabbage for all three tacos it was more for just only one. Would have prefer the shrimp cut into small cubes though having three whole shrimp was more of one bite of shrimp and another of tortilla before getting another shirmp bite. (Not everyone can eat a big taco in three bites.) The sauce was really good, the carrots were good too I would have prefer smaller strip though but the marinated onion was indeed delicious. Service was really good very attentive and afford recommend drinks. Great service indeed. Atmosphere was also good had music in the background not to over powerful were you can’t even carry a conversation with your group. Perfect volume and good music. Kept switching it up which I think is great everyone gets to hear at least something they like.

A nice Mexican restaurant in Long Beach. Festive atmosphere. Dia De los Muertes atmosphere. Food was decent, wife raved about Kala Bowl. I hade Chicken fajitas and I avoid carbs so I don’t get beans or rice or tortillas. I usually request a salad and they accommodated that request, no extra charge. We also just drink water, no alcohol so sometimes it seems like we get dismissed for no drinks, a little bit of that vibe here. Our food was delivered to our table within 7 minutes, lightning fast! Hearty portions. Staff was not very attentive to water refills, tip suffered because of that. Took awhile to get our check. A little loud but all in all a pretty good dinner.

Our table had the queso birria tacos, with a side of rice and beans. We also tried the Kala burrito. The aesthetic of the place is so cute! Definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

Absolutely LOVED Kalaveras! Phenomenal tacos (especially the carne asada and chicharron), strong frozen margaritas, and a great patio to sit on.
Highly recommend you check them out if you’re in the area, I know I’ll be back in the future.

I’ve never eaten at one of these establishments before, but my food was good. The taquitos were an appetizer but big enough to fill one person. The tacos were also hearty. The atmosphere was very pretty. I would return to this location again.

Sharon was an amazing bartender, at least I think that’s what I think her name was. She was petite, bubbly and spicy. Able to engage and give you the bar top experience even though it was a full house on Taco Tuesday.
I’m picky about my old fashioned and any spirit forward drinks and she delivered. Well balanced and refined. I’ll absolutely come back again. But if you’re here make sure you ask for an old fashioned or black Manhattan. You won’t regret it.

The music is intoxicating, vibe is fantastic and the service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend happy hour margaritas with “Mexican candy shot.” Located directly across the street from Hyatt Long Beach and our go-to spot before a cruise.

First time eating at this location. The first one was Bellflower but I really like the ambiance here the most. And the fact it’s in Long Beach has makes this one my new favorite too. Great location across the street from the Convention Center. Sugar skull themed art the walls throughout the restaurant. They play lively music. Upbeat and fun. Really tasty margaritas. Staff was friendly.
