It was a little difficult to find, as the entrance is behind the front of the building. Friendly people, good tea (they blend in house). The coffee seemed to be a dark roast. Great baked goods.

What’s not to love about Kala! My husband and I discovered this place a few years ago not long after moving to Mason. We’ve been coming ever since!! Such a great local coffee shop with friendly faces, delicious coffee, and food made fresh! Many items are organic and they even have gluten free options. They brew coffee from a local roaster in Newport, Ky … Carabello Coffee! Oh.So.Good.!! Menu items change seasonally and I highly recommend their signature sausage sandwich with their special sauce. Yum! Whether you sit on the first floor and choose the couch or a table, or go upstairs to the cozy loft with a great view overlooking the shop below, choose a window seat for two, or my favorite spot when I go by myself …. the comfy chair tucked underneath the staircase by the little tree and stove, there’s a seat for you!! Even a cute little patio outside. Kala also gives back!!! Each month they highlight a different local charity and a portion of the tips go to support that. They also have locally made items for purchase like jewelry, drink glasses, books, etc. The staff is great and work hard filling customers orders. We love Kala and know you will too! ☕️❤️

This place is super spacious, with two levels, cozy seats, a decent amount of outlets, and WiFi. They have a good-looking menu of toasts, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. There are tons of flavors to choose from for drinks too, but I’m a basic latte guy. The plain latte was solid, and the mocha I tried was also good — not overwhelmingly sweet. For food, the signature sandwich (add egg and spinach) was probably one of the tastier and better quality breakfast sandwiches I’ve gotten from a coffee shop — very tasty sausage, satisfying size, I’d eat it any day! The avocado & everything toast had a very tasty sourdough and was quite enjoyable. I’m happy to come here for breakfast or to plug in and work any day.

I have been going here for awhile now and absolutely love this coffee shop. I got the caramel twix flavored latte and the new caramel bread pudding. I love their coffee so much I take it to go. If you are looking for a place in Mason to get work
done, I recommend here because they have lots of tables and outlets. I always go here to get my homework or reading done. This place gets busy during the weekend but the weekdays are pretty quiet. I am very biased in my review because I know some of the staff from high school and they are wonderful people. Great location just outside of main street in Mason.

I love Kala, I used to come more often a few years ago when I had more free time for the calming relaxing atmosphere. I visited more recently to have a cup of coffee and read my bible and noticed that there was a different type of music being played. I remember Christian music being played in the past and my last visit there was secular music playing which changed the feel of the atmosphere for me. I would love for the Christian music to be brought back, that was one things that set Kala apart from other coffee shops for me and was part of what kept me coming back, and willing to make the extra drive past all the other coffee shops I past along the way.

They say if you make great coffee people will come. Well this place has Great coffee and the food is AMAZING. Recommend the Maple Butter, Cinnamon & Sugar toast. Great seating down stairs and in the loft. Free WiFi. The owners are amazing people and all tips go back to the community for several different organizations.

This is a recently discovered favorite coffee house of mine! Don’t be fooled by the exterior. It’s behind a church and next to a CrossFit location. At first I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to go inside, because it looks so unassuming and the location is so different. However, this is an absolute hidden gem! Inside is a warm, friendly, and inviting space. Plenty of places to sit and work. The loft upstairs has comfortable chairs and couches and a long bar with lots of electrical outlets to work. There is a conference room that you can reserve and best of all, they make an amazing cup of coffee! Highly recommend!
