I’m sure the quality of the food is authentic, straight from Japan but the presentation and portions of their rice bowls was extremely underwhelming — especially when it’s $28-30 a bowl. The bowls it arrived on was not the same as what was presented in the menu.

But the service was good.

S-tier omakase experience in the heart of Flushing. I will no longer have to make the trek out to Manhattan—the freshness, balance of flavors, and attention to detail of every piece served here sent me. Excellent sake selection as well

Not really authentic Japanese. Not very fresh in their tuna, salmon is ok, the waygu is ok but majority disappointing. Taste is nothing special. Chinese chefs operation.

Love this place. Omakase is amazing. The chefs and the waitresses are very nice. Fresh seafood. Go ahead and all out and get Chef’s Choice. You only live once. It’s definitely worth it.

This was my first time visiting this fine dining Japanese restaurant, and it’s definitely a hidden gem in Flushing, New York. The food was amazing, with excellent wine and liquor options, all in a very calm and relaxing environment. What truly made my experience exceptional was the outstanding service from my server, Alice. She was not only incredibly friendly and welcoming but also highly professional and attentive. Her warm demeanor and attention to detail made me feel truly valued as a guest. I enjoyed my visit so much and will definitely be coming back!

Great experience here, service was outstanding and generous and every piece I had was fantastic. I hope to be back soon. We had the early bird (4:30-5pm I believe) and it was awesome!

Kakurega Sushi in Flushing has made a sensational comeback after a fire, reigniting our passion for top-notch sushi! Ever since I first tried their Omakase, I’ve been deeply in love. Their craftsmanship has only improved over the years, making each visit unforgettable.

I absolutely adore their hairy crab and fish liver , each bite is a sublime experience . The hairy crab is rich and melts in your mouth, bursting with fresh ocean flavors. The fish liver is creamy and smooth, with a subtle sea aroma and a unique richness of fats—utterly unforgettable .

Their miso soup deserves special mention; unlike the common quick preparations, Kakurega Sushi’s miso soup is slowly simmered with fish stock, allowing every sip to reflect the chef’s dedication and care .

Situated in a prime area of Flushing, this establishment possesses a 7 places bar which puts you 75 inches in front of the Chef which prepares your dishes. Elsewhere tables of four are also at disposal.
Omakase & Hand roll sushi is the main feature of the house although the menu “a la carte” is absolutely fabulous.

All the ingredients are totally fresh and are immediately put back in the refrigerator once used. All is in front of your eyes. From the steaming of the rice which with its touch of vinegar and fine chopped pickles refreshes the palate.

They serve the fish sliced and refined with comestible flowers which is a delight for the sight before the belly.

Attentive to details and with an open ear to customers wishes the team of four will serve you with outmost respect and great enthusiasm.

The place is intime and cozy with a modern touch deco. The lightning has been very carefully thought to maximize the area of the bar to produce the full expression of the color of your dishes.

This is a night out food experience so no unnecessary distraction must accompany you once you are seated in order to take in the true feeling of a wonderful and tasty moment out.
