Lovely sushi place with delicious and fresh options. Enjoyed our time here and the staff were really nice. Ordered a small variety of items and ate them on Christmas with family. I didn’t know Christians went out to dine on this day, was surprised.

Everything was great. Sushimi was cut perfectly and had a great texture. The miso and saki were delicious. The boat and dragon roll are great choices. Service was on point and the restrooms were clean and kept up.

First time to try Kaiyo Sushi and the food was tasty. We got some sushi rolls, Hibachi, poke bowl and some noodles, everything was tasty. The sushi rolls were with salmon and mango, and some other with eel, the Hibachi was with chicken and shrimps, and the noodles were with steak and shrimps. Tasty food and very nice service.

Went here on Valentine’s Day and food was very good! I shared chicken dumplings as an appetizer and it was yummy and the sesame sauce was delicious. My girlfriend had the sunshine roll and said it was the best she ever had. I had the shrimp tempura which was also incredible. Service was a little slow because it was busy but we were offered a complimentary drink in return. I would highly recommend this place!

This was our first time and we definitely would love to return to sample more options from their extensive menu. We were warmly welcomed and promptly seated in the tastefully decorated dining room. There were dozens of choices of sushi rolls, both raw and cooked, as well as vegetarian selections and chef’s specials. Our party of four tried a number of appetizers, sushi rolls and hibachi combo, and everything was beautifully presented and amazingly delicious. We met the sushi chef who owns the restaurant with his wife, and heard the inspiring story of his longtime dream of opening his own sushi restaurant after intensive training under master sushi chefs. There’s plenty of free parking right outside the door and their location in Okemos is a short drive from the MSU campus. Highly recommended!

This was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. Every dish we ordered blew me away. The flavors had such depth and layers; it was a true culinary experience. Even though it’s a new spot, the chef is clearly top-notch. My friends couldn’t stop raving about it!
