Absolutely loved this place! The sushi rolls were huge, fresh, and packed with flavor definitely some of the best large rolls I’ve had in Hawaii. You can tell they put real care into the quality and presentation. What made the experience even better was the owner so kind, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. They took the time to check in and make sure everything was perfect. Great food, great service, and such a warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone craving amazing sushi!

Had the dynamite ahi, crunchy donburi, calamari rings, and a few other dishes, and everything was delicious and super fresh.
The ahi had the perfect amount of spice, the donburi was satisfyingly crunchy, and the calamari was light and crispy.
The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
Definitely a place I’d be happy to return to!

This was a great stop on our vacation. The lady behind the counter was soooo nice and welcoming, above and beyond customer service. The sushi was massive, not what i typically receive. She also let us try some miso soup that was fresh, it was delicious. This is a place i would frequent if i were a local! Go here!!!

So delicious and amazing price. The owner is so kind and the food was made SO FAST. She said 15 minutes and it was 10. Love it. We got 6 items for $38, so affordable too. The sushi itself was insanely fresh and super high quality. The rolls were way bigger than anything I’ve had in the area recently. Can’t wait to come again 🙂 uncle Jason and Brandon’s roll was SO GOOD!!! Dynamite too. 10/10.

I have been going to Waipuna sushi for a long time and it has been my go to spot for sushi in Kailua. They have a wide range of amazing menu options that it can be hard to choose! The staff are very nice and friendly. They are very open to substitutions and making it how you want. I have attached several pictures of items that are some of my favorites. They have a brand new item called “shrimp tempura curry” (see photo) which will be the one of many new items they are introducing. I felt the need to post this review to show how grateful I have been for many years.The sushi is fresh and very delicious! The new curry dish is great as well! My family members also love pairing their spicy options with a cold boba drink they also offer. I’m looking forward trying more of the new items soon! Mahalo!
