If you are staying in the Kona area and visiting Volcano National Park or Papakolea Green Sands Beach in South Point Park …. make sure to stop here for lunch/dinner (check hours). Busy, local bar/restaurant with great food. Based on all the reviews, we “had” to try the fish and chips. And, let me say …. it was amazing! Ono fish was fresh and prepared perfectly (hot, moist, flaky), fries and coleslaw were also very good. Highly recommend.

This is an authentic Hawaiian roadside café with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but a simple local spot with decent quality and homemade-style food. We ordered fish & chips, pepper fried with cream cheese, and a party burger steak — everything was fresh, tasty, and served quickly. The fish was crispy, the burger juicy, and the pepper dish had a nice flavor combination. Portions are large, prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly and laid-back. A great place to stop on the way to the beach and enjoy the true island spirit of Pure Aloha.

We were looking for a good place to eat on our way to black sand beach. This seemed as the best option and it definitely was a great experience! They serve simple bar food but they have a lot of options and
do it so well! Our server Kosmos was great and gave us sample of our drink before committing. All together definitely 5 stars!

Excellent bar with greats drink and killer food. Seriously, the burger was to die for. Look at the picture, it was massive but not too massive. It was amazingly cooked and the toppings were so fresh. Good beer selection and cocktail list. I’m coming here every time I visit the Big Island.

We love Kai Lokis ❤️. This our go to spot for dinner. The food, atmosphere, and smiling faces bring us back. We have made friends here, and are recognized each time we return to the island. Mahalo, to Victor, Cosmos, Jenn, and Julie, and the rest of the crew for always making us feel welcome, and like Ohana. Keep shining, and Aloha

My family and I stopped here for lunch en route to the Kahuku Unit and South Point. Cute place with friendly service and laid back vibes. My sister and I loved all the art for purchase on the walls. Food was decently good, about what you would expect from a secluded bar type place. We ordered the fish tacos, grilled cheese, and veggie burger. My grilled cheese didn’t have nearly enough cheese, nor was it grilled for long enough (the bread was still soft on the outside!) and my mom said the fish tacos needed more oomph. We also got virgin lilikoi mules which were great, but sour. Overall a nice place to stop for a casual lunch.

I would’ve taken a picture that actually had the food in the picture but it was just too damn good and so the picture here are our empty plates and omelette scrambled eggs and bacon and the remnants of some Pretty decent biscuits and gravy. Hands-down, best breakfast for the price in all of Ocean View. Sure is hard to beat this good of a Sunday breakfast plus you got Sunday football can’t beat the atmosphere highly recommend. Definitely a home run with this idea!

This is a lively little restaurant in a small community on the southern route between Kona and Volcano Nation Park.
The food is tasty and consistent! It has the best batter fried Ono in their fish and chips of any restaurant on the Island.
The service is friendly and attentive.
This restaurant is filled with locals having a good time with an occasional visitor.

We stopped by Kai Loki’s because we were actually hoping to find a different restaurant we had visited 3 years ago (which has apparently closed), and what a happy accident it was that we ended up at Kai Loki’s! The food was excellent! We had a variety of meals within our family of 6 adults from a chili burger to loco moco! Our server, Deedra (sorry if I spelled that wrong!) was awesome! She was super sweet! When we visit Kona again we will definitely stop by Kai Loki’s!

The food was quite good. The fish and chips, while VERY tasty, were not as mind blowing as other reviews indicated they would be. However the white fish was dense and they were great so they get 5 stars. Their nachos were great, and their chicken strips seem to be good per my traveling companions. The atmosphere is cozy and unpretentious and it seems like a super fun place to hang out or attend any events. Also, their coleslaw and sautéed veggies were shockingly amazing!! Also, my son said the fries are the best he’s ever had…they were next level!
