I don’t usually take pics of food, but I had to this time. The fish tacos are THE best I’ve ever had! The wife’s shrimp salad was great also. It’s definitely a place to eat if you’re in Talkeetna.

It was a busy evening at the restaurant and the kitchen staff looked overwhelmed. The waiter did warn me there was a wait for food but it was okay, I got my food in a decent amount of time. But damn that was one sad halibut burger I was served. Tiny bland piece of halibut on a bun and some veggies for $28. So disappointed how bland the meal was. I don’t think that was even due to the kitchen being overwhelmed, it’s just their recipe. Wait staff also was overwhelmed and didn’t even bring me any silverware nor check on me once. The restaurant looked cute but was sadly such a let down.

I don’t quite understand why there are reviews criticizing taste. The food is quite delicious here! Really liked the poke. Tuna was very fresh. Service was attentive enough, environment was peaceful, restrooms clean. Price was reasonable, especially by Alaskan standards.
There’s also a small section for merch and fishing books (not for sale). Additionally, they sell small tins of canned fish.

Super cute restaurant with seating inside and outside. The food was fresh, tasty and fast. My husband had a cheeseburger with potato chips, which was delicious. And I had the rice bowl. Normally we don’t order dessert, but we got their homemade berry cobbler with oatmeal topping and a scoop of ice cream. Bathroom was clean and it smelled good. So glad we stopped in this cute little town of Talkeerna.

Food was amazing! We started with the crab cakes and drinks. I had the rice bowl with salmon (ask for both sauces and mix them). My wife had salmon and son had the halibut. Loved sitting outside and watching the groups walk by. Service was great!

We were walking down the road and happened upon the bistro, it looked quiet and sits kind of on its own, but WOW!! It has been the absolute best meal of our trip so far. The service was wonderful, and the flavors of the food were just spectacular. We loved the rainbow chili nachos, the rice bowl (great veggies and shrimp), the fish tacos and the seafood mac. And the desserts were as indulgent as our server said they’d be. What a gem!!

Would have got 5 stars on the food, except the Mac and cheese was bland, needed a lot of salt/pepper. Would have been helped with some seasoned vegetables and/or Parmesan cheese and a little baking. The rice bowl with the shrimp and the grilled salmon with the rhubarb marmalade was exceptional. Food was hot when it came out, real plus and not fried. Vegetables and purple rice were very well done. Karim, our waiter was very good, great smile and personality. Skinny is the chef- tasty food, nice presentation, and plating. The order was correct, made very good recommendations from his own personal experience. Would advance him. Nice location. Close to drop off from the hotel. Close to downtown. Would recommend and eat here again. Pictures to follow.

Nice place to eat. Mostly outdoor seating. The service was great and cater to your needs. I ordered the rice bowl and I was craving salmon. The waitress said we can make you a salmon rice bowl. Good place to eat and loved the custom service.
