Only one thing, dress warmly. It’s a bit chilly in there. Call ahead or make a reservation. Again, it’s a small place, very few tables.
We were table for 15 and everything was amazing -The Railway Goat Curry was absolutely top-notch — rich, tender, and packed with authentic flavor. The saffron broccoli was beautifully done, and the smoked salmon was perfectly balanced and elegant. Desserts were the highlight: the blueberry firni and the kunafa nest were simply outstanding — honestly the best I’ve ever had. An unforgettable meal from start to finish. Highly recommended. Met chef Abhi an outstanding chef he personally explained the dishes, every bite reflected his passion & skill .Outstanding food and a memorable experience i have ever had with my love ones .Thanks for making our Beautiful evening amazing .BEST in the Town . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The highlight for me was the dessert not just for the taste, but for the presentation. Served with a dramatic, smoky effect, it felt like a little piece of theatre at the table. Visually stunning and perfectly balanced in sweetness, it was a fantastic way to end the meal.
Service was attentive and welcoming, and the team clearly takes pride in creating a complete dining experience, down to the smallest details. If you’re looking for a place that combines great food, ambiance, and creativity, Kahaaani is absolutely worth a visit. Would happily return.
The dessert was absolutely awesome, and the service made the entire experience unforgettable. I especially loved that the chef personally visits each table to ensure every guest is having the best dining experience possible. The hospitality is warm, the staff is attentive, and the cleanliness is truly spot on.
I’m definitely coming back again and highly recommend this place to any food lover who craves authentic, freshly made desi food. A true standout in town!
Delicious food and excellent service.
This was my first time trying brinjal (Vankaya) biryani, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Super flavorful, perfectly cooked, and didn’t feel heavy at all. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal.
The Manchow soup was exceptional — easily one of the best I’ve had in the US. The appetizers were on point, and the food presentation was really well done.
Also got a chance to talk to the chef, who’s from Bhopal — really nice guy and clearly passionate about what he does. Loved hearing about his innovative ideas and approach to the food.
Overall, amazing food, great plating, and a memorable experience. Will definitely be back.
The menu is diverse, with few North Indian tandoor items as well. Portions are proportionate to the price. Good spice level for the medium level that we ordered. They have option of mild for those who want that.
We loved:
Malai Tikka, Butter Chicken, Railway Goat Curry, Garlic Naan and Laccha Parantha.
Dal Tadka, Chicken 65 and Butter roti were good too.
My least favorite was Mirchi Bhaji.
They served fried papad in the beginning. And, complementary salad with the main dishes.
Highly recommend!
Our waitress, Chinmayi was superb in her hospitality and help and provided appropriate recommendations when asked.
Now to the food–we ordered three apps-The malai kabab, Zafrani Broccoli , and spring Mix chaat. The Zafrani Broccoli stole the show-delectable flavor of saffron and nice tangy sourness! The malai kabab was nice but could be a bit more tender.
I ordered the RAILWAY GOAT CURRY that was outstanding!!! Goat curries in area restaurants can be a hit or miss–here , both the tase of the primary meat and the prep were delectable and one of the best I have had! My other companions ordered vegetarian dishes as well–all were happy. In some cases a bit overly spicy for a “Mild” request—so you may want to be clear to emphasize mild vs medium etc.
Then the dessert–GULAB JAMUN KUNAFA NEST—-the best dessert I have had in a while!!! soft gulab jamuns on a NEST of sivaai like crispy base—five of us shared and each and every one loved the combo of velvety softness combined with the crispy base!!
Chinmayi stayed with us off and on to help us and to eagerly receive constructive feedback. She was a delightful personality from her native Hyderabad and we loved having her help us….
She followed it all with a surprise complimentary second dessert round on the occasion of your wedding anniversary!!–A tru cherry on the cake!!
This restaurant for the first time in many years reminded me of the insanely popular PASSAGE TO INDIA back in the day in the 1990’s (the only missing piece was a visit from the owner or the chef which would have further personalized the experience –like Vishnu Shenoy at Passage used to do regularly!)
Regardless, what a wonderful addition to the Indian restaurant scene in our lovely town!!!! I hope they are able to keep up the service and the quality!!!
