The Happy Hour prices were great! The place was clean and very nice. The food was only ok. If you’re looking for high quality sushi, this is not the place for you. The sushi was ok but not great. The pineapple fried rice was good. I didn’t have the hibachi but maybe next time.

This place is such a nice place to bring your family when you walk in the door there’s a tree at the entrance which is so aesthetic. I love it. The drinks are good. The food is fabulous. The service is fast. I will definitely give this a 10/10, and I will be back again. I’ve already been here twice. I will be back again.

Kabu has a great happy hour and some really solid sushi rolls! We tried the rainbow roll, spicy tuna, and orange roll—all fresh, flavorful, and generously sized. The pan-fried gyoza was also delicious. The only miss for me was the crab Rangoon—the filling was tasty, but the dough was over-fried and still a bit raw in the middle, almost like it had two layers.

Drinks during happy hour were great, though my lychee martini took about 25 minutes to arrive (not exaggerating). To their credit, the staff noticed and kindly comped it, which I appreciated.

Overall, I think Kabu is a fun spot with a strong happy hour and good food, with just a couple of areas that could be improved.

The hibachi was really amazing. The place is really nice as well. I feel like the service could have been a little better but it wasn’t too bad.

My boyfriend made a reservation for my birthday dinner, and the entire experience was really disappointing.

When we arrived and told the hostesses and manager that we had a reservation, the manager looked at the hostesses and, with an attitude, said we would have to wait “a couple minutes.” That ended up being about 40 minutes. We only got seated after reminding them that we had been waiting a long time despite having a reservation. There was another family waiting as well who was clearly frustrated.

When we were finally seated, it was at a hibachi table that was freezing. It was so cold that we had to keep our winter jackets on. Another family was seated with us, and they ended up leaving because the service was so bad. We asked if we could move because of how cold it was and were taken to another table.

After being reseated, we waited about 15 minutes and no one came over. A hostess eventually came by and asked if anyone had helped us yet. We told her no, and she said she would get someone. Shortly after that, a waiter came to the table. He didn’t greet us or acknowledge the wait — he just said, “What do you want?” and seemed clearly unhappy. At that point, we decided to leave.

From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were being treated with attitude. I let them know before we left that it was my birthday dinner and that we were really disappointed. The hostess seemed to understand.

I understand that restaurants get busy and that times can be stressful, but having a reservation, waiting that long, sitting in a freezing dining area, and being spoken to that way was not what we expected. It was supposed to be a special night, and unfortunately it ended up being very disappointing.

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time and had an amazing experience. The host, Lay, gave me a rundown of everything on the menu and suggested some favorites. She was very very helpful and sweet considering this was our first time at a hibachi restaurant. Because of how nice and amazing she is we came back again the next day. Irene and Joann were very nice as well and were attentive to our table. Very great people!

Had a great experience at Kabu Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun, but what really stood out was the host, Lay. They were super friendly, welcoming, and made sure everything ran smoothly from the moment we walked in. We were seated quickly and felt taken care of the whole time. Definitely coming back!

It’s beautiful inside (a nice surprise considering it seemed to be in a strip of stores) and the service was quick. Happy hour prices are really good. Half price on some basic sushi. and the sushi is really good. Also had shrimp drunken noodles and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. All food was delicious.

Tonight was our 5th or 6th time at Kabu Japanese Steakhouse. Each time has been fantastic and I’ve been meaning to review for awhile.

First, it’s a great atmosphere. No frills necessarily but the dining room is clean and open, although very cold sometimes.

Our server tonight, Cyndi, is phenomenal. She noticed I ordered vegetarian rolls and meal, and indicated she’d bring me a vegetarian soup with my meal. It was a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. Cyndi was really nice, attentive and we’d dine again with her anytime.

Every day Kabu offers a number of half off sushi rolls! You can see from our check that we ordered 11 total rolls, one entree, two appetizers and three drinks – with the 18% automatic gratuity our meal with all that food was only $112. That is a very impressive price considering how tasty the food was and how much we ordered.

Although we’ve dined hibachi side at Kabu previously, we prefer the regular table side dining room. Parking during busy times can be difficult but it’s not a deal breaker. Great staff, quick service, delicious food and something for everyone. You can’t go wrong here and I highly recommend Kabu!
