The food was generally good. The kabob, rice, fried fish, and sheeryakh were all very tasty and enjoyable. However, the salata and mantu were not as good and could be improved. The atmosphere could be enhanced with some decorations to make the space feel more welcoming. Service was okay, but it would be good to see improvements in hygiene and overall cleanliness.

BEST FOOD I’VE HAD IN NOVA!
The service was fast, and the staff were respectful, prompt, and genuinely friendly. The restaurant was spotless and well-maintained, which made the experience even better.
The food came out quickly but was clearly made with care and skill. We ordered the chicken kabob, ground beef, chickpeas, mantu, and sheeryakh—and every dish was fantastic. The sheeryakh (Afghan ice cream) is an absolute must-try!
Highly recommend this restaurant—I’ll definitely be coming back as a regular customer!

I would give this place -5 stars if I could !
I had terrible experience at this restaurant. The place was dirty, the floor clearly hadn’t been mopped for days and the tables were not wiped between customers. The cashier barely spoke English, overcharged me, and then refused to refund the price difference even after I calmly explained her mistake three separate times. She was extremely rude !! The whole interaction was frustrating and unprofessional. Save your money and time and READ reviews! these customers are not lying ! I do not recommend this place to anyone!

Recently we had fish and uzbaki palaw here. The fish smelled like mold and tasted weird. The rice and meat were tender but lacked flavor. After we were disappointed about the fish we approached the kitchen and told our concern. To my surprise they only said they probably did not marinate it well!
This place used to serve tender seasoned fish with great flavour and fish didn’t look yellow or orange from inside. Me and my husband were sick to our stomachs for a week. Just writing this review to give you a heads up before you go here and order fish.

We went to Kabobistan for dinner and really liked it. The food was fresh and made in front of us. The meat was very good, especially the boneless chicken and lamb chops. The bread was fresh and made there too. The wait time was good, and the service was great. I don’t understand the low ratings. This restaurant is worth trying. We will come back again.

This place is probably the most tasteless restaurant. It was very noisy. Mosquitoes had taken up residence inside the restaurant. The food was cold and the burgers were inedible. At 9:30pm, there was no food available. Why don’t you lock the restaurant so that everyone knows not to eat? And most importantly, my complaint is that the staff is not attentive at all and their behavior is worse.

I was doing a research project from the university near by and had a pleasure to try the food from the restaurant. I had a plate of rice with eggplant and chickpeas on the side. I love eggplant and this restaurant cooked the best eggplant I have ever had in my entire life. I ate all food on the plate plus bread. Plus, dressing of sour cream with garlic is delicious. THANK YOU FOR SUCH WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I wish I lived in this area, so I could eat here often. I live in Virginia Beach area which is 4 hours drive. But next time I am in DC, I definitely stopping. THANK YOU AGAIN!

I recently visited your restaurant, excited to try your authentic and delightful food for Iftar. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite having a large kitchen staff, the service was slow and disorganized. I had to take the initiative to place my order at the counter, and even then, my order was mixed up with someone else’s and wasn’t ready when I asked.
After a 30-minute wait, I had to request my order again, which was frustrating. When my food arrived, the Chaplee kabob were poorly presented, appearing carelessly cooked and plated, I recommend a circular plate for this kind of food to take out.
The kitchen atmosphere was chaotic, noisy, and crowded, which made for an uninviting dining environment. As a customer, I expect a certain level of service, which was lacking during my visit.
Unfortunately, the taste of the food didn’t meet my expectations either when I was broken my fast couldn’t eat much, as someone who has tried many different cuisines, I was disappointed by the lack of flavor and authenticity in your dishes. I understand that every restaurant has off days.
I hope you take my feedback seriously and take steps to improve the quality and taste of your food presentation, and overall dining experience. With some adjustments, I believe your restaurant has the potential to live up to its claims of authentic and delightful cuisine.

First time coming here, and I’m glad about my experience. The food was delicious and presented beautifully, service was great and helpful, and menus are posted outside which was very much appreciated. Prices were a little too high, but still went home happy. I highly recommended the restaurant, everything about it was great and super delicious!

Visited with the family last night and service was phenomenal for Saturday dinner. Plenty of seating throughout the restaurant, especially for bigger families. I ordered A7 and everything was delicious, the chicken and beef were seasoned well. My husband had A7 and his lamb kabobs were so tender and seasoned very well. I usually do not like lamb but the lamb was cooked perfectly here. We also tried their Mantu’s, it was my favorite dish of the night. The beef filling was delicious and the size of the mantu was also very generous. The uzbeki pulao was another fan favorite. Tender meat and juicy rice, complimented with the sweet carrots and raisins. We ordered 1 sheeryakh for the family to enjoy and it was filling for us 7 people. The sweetness wasn’t overwhelming and the milky flavor was delicious. Service was great and the employees were very sweet.
