I really wanted to like this spot because I try to support downtown Flint. I ordered the chicken shawarma with pita chips and hummus. The hummus unfortunately had almost no flavor and mostly tasted like plain chickpeas. The pita chips had a nice crisp texture but were very small broken pieces and also lacked seasoning.
The shawarma had plenty of chicken and a nice char from the grill, but it wasn’t shaved spit style and mostly tasted like garlic. There was very little pickle and no noticeable sauce, which made the sandwich extremely dry overall. The grilled pita was a nice touch, but the flavors didn’t quite come together.
Hoping they dial in the seasoning a bit because the location and portions have a lot of potential. I eat chicken shawarma at least once a week at various spots and this for me was at the bottom of the list sadly.

I called ahead because we hadhave food allergies. The gentleman was super helpful and was able to answer my questions. We decided to try it & I’m so glad we did.
I got the tawook bowl on lettuce instead of rice with cucumbers, tomatoes and olives with the tahini and chipotle dressing. The dressing was a little sweeter than I like. Next time, I’ll get it on the side. Delicious & filling. My husband got the tawook bowl with the same thing except he got the tabouli dressing.
It was fresh and full of veggies (we don’t eat grains). Plus we know that this is a safe place to eat as they cook their chicken separate from their beef. It wasn’t super busy, but they did have a steady flow.
So a new place for us to enjoy tasty food.

There is no flavor in this food. Unfortunately. I tried a few things on the menu so that I could have options to choose from. The rice is completely bland. As well as the chicken wrap .. It was warm and I’d needed a warm meal but some salt and pepper I don’t think would hurt. And then the salad. The one thing I was so happy to have because it really was delicious. The lettuce was fresh the tomatoes, the cucumbers the vinaigrette! The first time it was perfect. I thought I was going to be eating salads everyday. I’d gotten it for the final time when had to throw all the chicken away because it was bad. The chicken you smell more than once to double check if it has a smell. Chicken you throw away and do not cook with. That’s what it tasted like. I’m new to Flint. And as of right now these are my meal options. Needless to say, I’m still hungry. This was very disappointing.

This place has the best garlic sauce hands down. The other places can’t compete. They can put three taboons in front of Kabob and I’ll still walk past them to get to Kabob. Their rice is cooked to perfection , hummus is superb and shawarma is tender and fresh. The owner is usually here and waits on you himself. This is the type of business I like to support. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is a hidden gem amongst greater Flint digs. They have great food! Wonderful service, and they’re very inexpensive and reasonably priced. It’s my new favorite downtown lunch spot. The only drawback is maybe their short schedule Mon.-Fri. 10am-5pm.
