We just had the most amazing Filipino food in San Antonio at KABAYAN KUSINA.

My little taste buds are so happy… it’s been forever since I last ate pancit and lumpia.

We ordered both lunch specials and brought more than half of each home because we wanted to save room for dessert… Halo-Halo. Oh my gosh! So good. And it’s PURPLE!

Highly recommend!

This place feels like my mom’s kitchen with all my Auntie’s in the back making the most delicious food. It just has a comforting vibe. I was grateful to take my kids to this restaurant to celebrate Filipino American History Month so they could taste authentically cooked food from their culture. They are picky eaters, but loved it!
We had pinakbet with rice, lumpia, and the halo-halo. I wish I could go back tomorrow! It’s definitely worth a try and I’m so glad it’s close to my house. ❤️

A friend recommended this place for good Filipino food and we are glad we tried it. The food was very delicious and the wait staff was excellent.

We ordered the Chicken Adobo, Ginisang Monggo Lechon (mung bean & fried pork belly stew), Pancit Bihon (Pork & noodles), and Sago Gulaman (plant-based jelly and tapioca drink). The dishes are family style, so they can be shared by all. My wife has more experience with Filipino food and she really enjoyed the food.

This place is amazing! The lumpia is great but let me put you onto one of the best pieces of cake I have ever had in my life! First of all, I love all things Ube. I just had a slice of their Crème brûlée Ube Cake and it was out of this world! Light, fluffy, flavorful and HUGE! We will definitely be back.

Ordered BBQ Pork Sticks, long-silog & dinuguan. All were delicious. Cost for it was pretty pricey & some might say its not worth it but i wanted to try the restaurant. Food took less than 10 minutes to come out so wait time wasnt long. We were at the restaurant before lunch time so it wasnt busy.

The food is the best of its type in the area. Its not like back home in many provinces but close enough.

The service was the real highlight here. They were very friendly and attentive.

The atmosphere was a bit sterile like a cafeteria but at least it had nice large wood tables and some design to it. The atmosphere was far better than many other pinoy places.

If you’re craving authentic Filipino food in Texas, this gem in San Antonio is a must-visit! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the subtle yet charming traces of Filipino design throughout the restaurant—it felt like a slice of home.

The service was lightning-fast, which was a pleasant surprise, especially given how packed the place was. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.

Now, let’s talk about the food: absolutely delicious! Every bite transported me straight back to the Philippines. It’s rare to find Filipino cuisine this authentic outside of the homeland. The flavors were rich, bold, and hit all the right notes. On top of that, the portions were massive—definitely great value for the price.

This place easily ranks in my top 3 Filipino restaurants in Texas. If you’re in San Antonio, don’t miss it—you’ll leave with a full stomach and a happy heart!

This place is amazing. The food, service is just like the Philippines in the U.S. We went twice and for us. It’s the closest to my wife feeling at home. Definitely the BEST we’ve had outside of the Philippines and we/I have had as many Filipino restaurants as we can find.

I had a wonderful time here. The staff was very inviting and kind. The food was delicious; and based on my experience of tasting foods during me visit in the Philippines, it had authentic filipno flavors. A great place to get good quality filipno flavor. Be prepared for a little wait time but I believe thats because everything is prepared fresh and to order. I can’t wait to bring me filipina fiancee here to give her opionion. To follow our story come vist me on facebook at Joshua Goldbach and please go give this restuarant a try. You won’t regret it.

The food was fresh & delicious! Very flavorful, even the pickled veggies. The ube cake was fresh, clean tasting, and perfect…although, the cake is catered, and they have business cards to share for that baker! The halo halo was ok, 4 out of 5 stars…We’ve had better for the price. Leftovers were just as good…if not, even better! Pork stayed crispy for 2 days (microwave & air fryer to reheat)!

Price is high, but quality, presentation, and cleanliness are worth it. We’d definitely come back as a fam of 5 ages 18 mo-5ish decades of life.

Service was mostly amazing! 3 out of 4 workers we were serviced by are wonderful and made it up for the miscommunication with one of the servers, who got cranky…I didn’t hear clearly which dishes were dropped off and got another table’s 2 dishes. Similar dishes but not quite what we ordered. We accidentally started eating one, as we thought we ordered wrong. Not everyone speaks Tagalog, but the rest of the staff understood this and made us very comfortable. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
