It took me over four weeks to write this review. At first, I didn’t think the experience warranted one, but I eventually decided that sharing my perspective might be helpful in some way.

Kabarna’s Grill and Galleria had a high bar to meet for me, as my only prior experience with African cuisine was in New Orleans, which remains one of the best dining experiences of my life. Aesthetically, Kabarna’s is charming, with African artifacts displayed throughout the restaurant that create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The menu is extensive, which made choosing a dish difficult. I asked our waitress for guidance, but she was very soft-spoken and seemed either unfamiliar with the menu or there may have been a communication gap between us. Unfortunately, this made it challenging to make an informed decision. We were told that all food is made to order and that the wait time could be up to 45 minutes; our food arrived in about 30 minutes.

I ordered the turkey wing with potato fries and coconut rice. My husband ordered the lamb chops with sautéed red and green peppers and coconut rice, and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. The turkey wing, which was served chopped into pieces, was extremely tough and difficult to chew, making it essentially inedible. I ended up eating only the coconut rice and some of my husband’s sautéed peppers. The potato fries were dry and lacked flavor.

While the ambiance and menu variety show promise, the food quality and service did not meet expectations, especially given the anticipation and the comparison to past experiences with African cuisine.

Very clean and upscale, Kabarna’s offers a modern West-African dining experience with beautiful décor to match. The menu features all the classics, along with a few creative fusion dishes. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Service was good. Prices range from very reasonable to a bit pricey, depending on what you order. I hope to return soon. Definitely one of the best African restaurants in the city.

Firstly the dine in service was excellent. I had somewhat of a complicated order since I’m vegetarian and many West African dishes are meat forward. The chef made a special vegetarian friendly okra soup to live for! It was beyond excellent. Please consider making this apart of the menu, there of lots of vegetarians and vegans who still love African food.
The appetizers were great for group that came with me. They also loved their entrees. This place really exceeded all my expectations! Our server was a jewel. She would not stop until we were all satisfied. Definitely a 10/10 recommendation.

I love African cuisine and this restaurant served it up perfectly. The service was great but very slow, they are new so need to give them some time. I had egusi soup and I didnt like the smell of it but it tasted great. We was served a sample of a few things and it was all great. The atmosphere is perfect, very beautiful dinning room. I tried to find them on Door dash but was unable to. I recommend this restaurant if you like African cuisine.

We came on a Monday night to Dine-in. It was empty so we got seated quickly. I decided to order the jollof rice supreme and a pepper soup. The waiter told me the pepper soup was really hot as a warning so I decided to ask for the mushroom soup instead. I was glad he was honest about the spice level.

He quickly returned and said there was no more mushroom soup. I was disappointed but it was ok and I decided to not have any soup and just order the jollof supreme.

The waiter then went back to the kitchen and came back to our table to let me know they “found” the soup….what does that even mean. (Means they found a brick of frozen soup in the back) So I continued to decline. He then pointed to fried calamari instead of the soup as another option. Strange when calamari and soup are not the same. I declined.

Once the meal arrived it looked very appetizing. The rice was ok. But the chicken and beef were extremely tough. Completely inedible. I left the restaurant hungry because the rice only had 3 shrimp. The coleslaw was pretty good. The plantain was dry but ok. Overall I will not be back. I’m gonna blame it on the random Monday dinner but they clearly just reheated some old chicken and beef and threw it on my plate. My fork and knife couldn’t even cut the meat. Also it was very high for some old meat and 3 shrimp. That plate cost 41 dollars…..ridiculous

I visited Karbana’s 2/20/26 for my son’s 22nd birthday. We tried this new restaurant and concept for us. The decor is beautiful. The restaurant had a few tables filled. The menu had so much food we figured no way everything was good. We were so pleasantly surprised the jerk wings were the first dish that arrived to our table and the smell alone was enough! We ordered eguisi, chicken, beef kabob , goat stew, jollof rice and fufu. When I say the food was amazing. The staff was superb! The complimentary fried dough was out of this world. I will be back. I suggest this to any one who really is looking for something new and wonderful.

Our family loves African cuisine however this place lacked flavor and freshness. The plantain was hard and not sweet or savory . The egussi soup was ok and the peanut soup fish smell was very concerning . They also do not offer the peanut soup without the fish the pepper soup and suya was mid we had to ask for more pepper sauce as it wasn’t spicy . They brought half the tables food out and the others way after . The waiter never came back to refill waters and he did t know the menu well I understand they’re new however to spend over 100.00 and the food or service were t good . Also please have someone one tidy the restrooms and stock toiletries it was a mess and smelled of backed up sewage . The decor and ambiance at the table was beautiful
