K.D.’s Sea Shack is an absolute gem! The conch chowder was rich and flavorful, the oyster Rockefellers were on point, and the crab cakes were packed with sweet, tender meat and hardly any filler. On top of the amazing food, our bartender/server Joe made the experience even better—he was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere—I’ll definitely be back!

We have been here a few times awhile ago and everything was great. We went last night for dinner and to hear an amazing band. The band was awesome and our server was very sweet. However, this was the worst meal we’ve ever had anywhere. We were so looking forward to a nice dinner out and this was far from it. Should’ve read the reviews 1st. Everything was horrible. We started with the lobster Mac n cheese app which we’ve had before. It was so watery, barely had any lobster and there was some weird chewy something in it. Then came my side salad. I took a bite and told my husband to try it. We both thought it tasted very odd. Kind of like soapy. Then came his fish and chips w a side of broccoli. The fish and fries were over cooked and clearly the oil hadn’t been changed in a very long time. Then there was my $35 crab legs and about 5 pieces of asparagus. The crab legs were the skimpiest thing we’ve ever seen. Tasteless and very rubbery. The asparagus of course was also gross, very mushy. We both felt sick all evening. So disappointed.

Went Saturday after a day outdoors in Hendersonville and I’m so glad I stopped in. Was craving good seafood and the menus outside caught my attention with the lobster Mac and cheese. Best meal I have had in a long while!! Ally and Joe were so super nice and I made sure to let them know I would return with other guests and I will be sharing the name of this restaurant going forward as a great one to try.

Update – we have been back many times since last year and have enjoyed it every time! When we have family visit, it’s the first restaurant we take them to!!! Last night, we went for Valentines dinner and again they totally knocked our socks off!!! Our waitress Joy was outstanding and really took care of us. From the oysters on a half shell to the lobster Mac n cheese, from the perfectly cooked filet to the tender lobster meat, and through to our luxurious in-house made desserts, every bite was delicious!!!!
What a perfect new restaurant for our town of Tryon! When I saw they had opened this week, I knew we had to stop in ASAP especially given it is owned & operated by Katie from Katie Ds Bagels also in town & a much loved sandwich shop by us. It did NOT disappoint! From walking in and being warmly welcomed by the chefs mother to our stellar waitress whom was warm, friendly, and attentive, to the FANTASTIC food, our experience exceeded expectations.
We enjoyed an appetizer of stuffed clams which were yummy and the perfect serving size (only suggestion i have is to serve an even amount of clams for sharing so there are no fights over whom gets the last one:))& a tasty fresh salad with the perfect funky Bleu cheese dressing before enjoying our entrees of lobster Mac & cheese (me) and red snapper (hubby). Trust me when I say it tasted as good as it looks!!!
And you need to try their made-in house desserts of NY cheesecake & carrot cake! Soooo good!
I guarantee we will be back again & again and my husband & I thank Katie and her husband for opening this perfect addition to our town and wish them the best in their new venture❤️

Came down from Hendersonville for an early dinner and we are so glad we did! Our server Teirney was so awesome the food was seriously so good! I have oysters Rockefeller for my appetizer and they were perfect. Bacon wrapped Scallops for my entree was cooked just right. Drinks were on point and we even were surprised to see they had live music that wasn’t to loud but added the perfect vibe for the place. It was also great to see the staff getting along and all talking to each other. They seemed to like their co workers. We will 10/10 be back!

Though this is a Seafood establishment, they have a great burger. On Thursdays they have a special burger deal. I have enjoyed one better burger after another. This week, however, was exceptional!! I have had burgers in at least 30 states, this particular flavor profile was in the TOP 3 all time!! I do not make this statement lightly. This was their Shanghai Burger special. The ingredients, in my opinion, would never have found their way to a burger “I’m” eating. Tai chi, wasabi, siracha mustard, provolone, and coarse pepper to name a few items on this burger. The combination was indescribable. Again, I was amazed by Chef Matt’s creation. And, they can recreate their special’s anytime. Great job!!

What a great little restaurant with great seafood near home. The family (6 of us) visited here today and was very pleased with the service and the food. I got the Boil along with two other family members and we were very happy with our choices. My wife got the lobster roll and said it was the best she has ever had and it was loaded with lobster. Can’t wait to go back and try the King Crab legs.

Cute seafood place in the mountains of Tryon. Lobster Mac n Cheese was good, crab legs were good but needed more seasoning. Amazing deal of three clusters for $24.00.
Biscuits were very nice and veggies were great. The rice was buttery and full of yums. Bartender was very friendly.
Gave five stars because they just opened and are adjusting. 10/10.

From the beginning the waiter was so great . We ordered the oysters Rockefeller and then I ordered halibut and it was so good and moist. My husband got the lobster roll and he loved it. Everything was cooked perfect. I plan to come back when we are up this way. Highly recommend

Food was tasty and staff friendly. My first time here so I sampled dishes off the appetizer menu: Conch Chowder, Clams Casino, Loaded Skins, Oysters Rockefeller, and Lobster Mac and Cheese. Atmosphere reminds me of a seafood shack on the coast. Sunday, shortly after opening, was not busy, but food took a while to get out of the kitchen.
