Not the worst place I’ve ever eaten but I was very disappointed. The salad bar was wilted, my 1st baked potato was hard and cold, the 2nd was barely better, our fries were okay, the Texas toast was dry and just plain toasted white bread rather then actual Texas toast and to top it off the service sucked. Our server ignored us to the point that we had to wave her down to get our check after sitting with our empty plates for 15 minutes. On the up side our steaks were cooked to order and very tasty.

12/2021: Good attentive service & food. Restaurant wasn’t packed when we got our seating. No salad bar. Clean bathrooms. Upon leaving KBob’s was filling up.

Appetizer was delicious deep fried mozzarella sticks. Ordered chicken fried chicken, hold the brown gravy, mashed potatoes w/brown gravy;

Smothered Charloin® chopped steak topped with grilled onions, mushrooms & brown gravy;

Buttermilk fried chicken tenders (Original) with Ranch Dressing

All were delicious and filling. Happy eating!

No salad bar, beware…
Steak was mediocre with only one side dish at the price they are asking is crazy, also the “Texas toast” was too thin to be called that.The burger tasted good however, it was light on meat. The kids meal was a good deal.
The cobbler was not served hot and the quality was OK.
Service was good and the place looks clean.

Great food and all. But the waitress had no interest in actually hearing our orders. She had a pen and paper and was writing. But i asked for the 6 ounce (ranch) steak with a side of veggies. My husband got a burger and onion rings and ranch. I got the steak with onion rings and hubby got the burger with fries and no ranch. I wouldn’t worry about tipping as they seem not to worry about earning it. The chef did fantastic. My steak was a perfect medium rare and my husband enjoyed his burger. Just sucks that a paid for a plate which half of i couldn’t eat. Didn’t want to interrupt the staffs lunch break mid dining room. But one helped us at the register and didn’t care at all when i mentioned the mistake. She wanted to get back to eating and scrolling on her phone.

On our way back from NM to Colorado stopped here for some grub and it was very good. One of the best rubens i ever had. The waitress was very nice too,even though they where very under staffed. Would definitely go back if im ever in Las Vegas NM again.

Everybody raved about the salad which wound up being a simple salad bar. The service was great, tea was awesome! The “Texas” chicken fried steak wasn’t so Texas sized but it was good

NASTY!! They said it was a ribeye, but I think it was actually the “browneye”. The “butter” is actually whipped palm oil, and the price for the quality is ridiculous!!! I ordered it medium rare and it came out very rare. I didn’t dare send it back because this doesn’t seem like the kind of place where that is a good idea (you know what I mean). Do yourself a favor and hit a wild animal on the highway and eat that. You’ll be glad you did.

Getting pricy, and not getting any better. I really love some of the waitresses here. Anna is an incredible person, and a delight. Very personable. The cooks…there’s only one guy who really cares about the quality of the food he serves, it’s a little short guy that is really serious about the food. He makes THE PERFECT liver and onions.
The other tall guy just burns it up, my husband and I have been referring to him as the hermits peak calf canyon cook. I wish he would take his job more seriously. I even ASK the waitresses to tell him DO NOT BURN THE LIVER. He burns it dry and charcoaled anyway.
The Hillcrest is now the place to go for liver and onions. They do it right all the time.

I like the chicken fried steak. The salad wagon could use a good cleaning & fresh salad.

This is probably one of the best breaded chicken bacon club sandwiches I have ever eaten. The chicken is hand baddered to golden goodness and don’t forget to ask for the diced green chilie.
