Lovely experience at JY’s! We went for the dinner menu paired with wines and it was a fantastic episode in our quest for the best Michelin starred restaurants. The food was delicious, very balanced proteins-carbs-fats, beautiful plated. The service impeccable, very professional yet friendly. The wines were great, the sommelier has an interesting character, he is very focused and meticulous and provided us a spot-on pairing. The only thing that is maybe not perfect is the design of the restaurant which, for my taste, is a bit boring (it’s a huge modern design room), but the space between sittings is excellent, the furniture is contemporary and of very good quality. At the end we had the opportunity and pleasure to meet Jean-Yves, the chef, and he’s a very nice and kind person. We’ll return for sure with the next trip to Colmar.

my experience at jy’s was very disappointing, to say the least. let me start by saying that this was my introduction to french fine dining, so there may be a knowledge gap here. the food was cooked with precision and technique, and was all plated beautifully. unfortunately though, each dish lacked one major component: salt! i found most of the dishes to be extraordinarily bland, and i can say it was my first time that i simply couldn’t finish some of the dishes in a michelin starred meal. my least favorites were the scallop course and the chicken course, both were extremely bland. although, salt could be found in the broth served with the scallop, but it was way too much! it was almost like salt water.
another bite that i couldn’t finish was the chef’s interpretation of a salad during the amuse bouche. i found it to have an unpleasant, slimy texture and a bitter taste. any vegetables served with the courses were just simply steamed, and still lacked and seasoning. i can safely say that each course could’ve been saved if it was all just seasoned better. the highlight of the meal for me was dessert, wonderfully plated and delightful flavors.
in the end still, i can only say that i regret my experience at jy’s. while the service was helpful, the ambiance was nice, and each dish definitely proved technique and precision, the lack of flavor more or less completely ruined the meal for me.

The food was perfect – an exceptional culinary experience from start to finish.
The service, however, was average.
The menu is written only in French, with no English version available. That is acceptable as long as the staff can explain some of the dishes and answer basic questions, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. It took a very long time to get assistance or answers to fairly simple questions.
Toward the end of the meal, before dessert, we waited a long long time between receiving our cutlery and actually getting the dishes (almost 30 minutes). The staff apologize after we told them about it, but we didn’t expect the entire experience to take three and a half hours.
We wouldn’t skip this place – it’s possible the service issue was just a one-off, and even if it wasn’t, the food was exceptionally delicious, so it worth it.

An experience not to be missed due to the dedication from the service team and culinary execution by the chefs. From the aperitif to the dessert, familiar flavors yet coming together refreshing and pleasantly surprising. This fine establishment accommodated our child with kindness and graciousness which is rare in fine dining. Very thankful to the chef and his team who are prepared to accommodate my child so that my wife and I can enjoy this experience.

The dinner at JY’s was one of our gourmet highlights of the cycling trip in Alsace in September. First reason is that they have accommodated my wife’s FODMAP sensitivities with the adjustment of the tasting menu. That does not happen very often in ** Michelin star restaurants. Service was meticulously organized. My only observation that was unusual was that we split one wine tasting with a single shared glass at each course. At the end of the meal the dessert chef mentioned that their ice cream and sorbet contain sorbitol which is a big offender in FODMAP sensitivity so this really confirmed their concern about the customer’ health. Finally, our dinner ended in the kitchen to chat with owner and Michelin chef and the photo of that pleasant surprise is attached to this review. We are definitely coming back.

Wow. Some of the best restaurants we’ve ever been. They worth the two Michelin stars they have. Great service. Great food.
There is a great vegetarian menu.
Good value for money.

We had a mixed experience. The ambiance was pleasant, but the food was inconsistent. The main course was excessively salty, making it difficult to eat, and the service was quite slow. We also found the sommelier to be slow and unhelpful with our wine selection. We hoped for a better experience overall.

JY’s was a great experience. Sitting in the middle of a beautiful park with exquisite metal animal sculptures throughout the restaurant set the tone. The presentation was incredible on each plate. I opted for the 6 course option with wine pairing. The highlights were the amuse bunch, especially the incredibly unique caeser salad, and the liquid nitrogen ice cream made table side. Overall I had a wonderful time however for a 2 Michelin starred restaurant I would have expected a little more especially from the middle courses of the menu. Would recommend.
