We came across a charming little sushi restaurant. It’s quite cozy, so I’d recommend making a reservation or arriving early to secure a spot.
The sushi had so much flavor, featuring incredibly fresh fish! Our service was decent, although it seemed to be affected by the restaurant’s busyness.
As for seating, we ended up outside since there were no available tables inside. Typically, I wouldn’t mind, but the noise from the busy road next to us detracted from the overall atmosphere.
Despite these minor issues, it’s still a great option if you’re in the mood for sushi!

Toshi delivers another exceptional Japanese dining experience in the heart of San Pedro. Jyoto downtown is a meticulously run venue for excellent sushi, crafted with skill and premium ingredients. The ramen is excellent, and the gyoza are, by far, the best in Belize. The staff is attentive, courteous, and welcoming, which really makes for a phenomenal dinner. The Avocado Tuna Bliss and spicy beef gyoza are standouts on the menu. Make a reservation and reserve your sushi boat in advance for a real treat.

We love this place. The best sushi in Belize and decent portions.. we only went during happy hour to make it more affordable for us. Great quality and fresh ingredients as far as I can tell. Atmosphere I gave 4 stars because usually it’s very calm and quiet, but one time they played pop music really loud which didn’t seem very fitting.

Excellent!! I ordered spicy tuna sushi and pork Ramen. I forget to inform that I don’t eat mushroom and the noodle soup broth is made of mushroom, they change it for me without any hesitation, appreciate the service!

Kyoto Downtown Sushi & Ramen completely blew me away! I tried their Crunch and Cream Roll, and it was delicious — the perfect balance of crisp texture and flavor. The silky salmon paired with a subtle kick of chili paste was a sweet surprise for the palate.
Next, the Mar Roll — salmon, tuna, and snapper — was nothing short of stunning, both in presentation and in taste. Every bite felt like a work of art. I paired my sushi with their Umeshu Sparkling Plum Wine, perfectly chilled and incredibly refreshing.
To go, I grabbed a Pork Belly Bao Bun and a Lobster Bao Bun — both bursting with flavor and just as delicious later.
Though Kyoto has only been open for a year, they’ve already made their mark. They even offer daily happy hour from 4:30–5:30 PM. The space is small, quaint, and welcoming, making it a must-visit in San Pedro.
I’m beyond thrilled I stumbled upon this spot on my way back to the resort. Fair prices, outstanding quality, and food that’s truly memorable. Don’t miss it!

The tuna was stringy, chewy and rough. Just was not prepped correctly. The wrong part of tuna was used as well to be seared. Chef clearly doesn’t know her fish.
I found some fish scale from my rice, all I had was a “sorry”

Truly tasty sushi rolls. My son and I were pleased and would certainly come back for more. We each had bowls of miso soup and split three rolls which we could barely get through because it was more than enough of food. They were so good and would highly recommend you stop by when you’re in the area.

Really wanted to like this place based on reviews. Small place but nice inside. The food however was probably the worst sushi I ever had. We had 3 rolls and gyoza. First the froze had cheese inside it which is very strange for Japanese gyoze and the wrapping had some freezer burn on the dough. The rolls were really the main disappointment tho. The rice was so mushy and soggy it was hard to swallow and would get stuck inside ur mouth and throat. See the pics the rice was like a paste it was so wet. Also we one roll was really fishy we didn’t even eat it. We told the waitress we didn’t like it and all they said was ok. No why or what was wrong and was still on bill. Not sure if it was an off night but definitely wouldn’t return. Look at the pics u can’t even see the grains of rice

Absolutely AMAZING food and service! Seriously, if I could give 6-stars I would. The California Poke Bowl was the best! The seaweed -wrapped sushi rolls were also good. Even the ginger here is fantastic!
Also service is top-notch!
