Lance and Liz Steward have maintained a fabulous restaurant that has been a local hot-spot for generations of families to enjoy casual dining and celebrations of all kinds. We had a delicious lunch at Just Jake’s for our afternoon and had a simple Vegetarian sandwich, Crispy Chicken sandwich and as a starter we had the Portobello mushrooms starter dish. All of it was sumptuously had, and it was amazing in quality consistency and Top marks to the Chef for making such a simple meal a total delight!
Our serveuse was bubbly, effervescent and kind. Great service and 5* all the way! Just Jake’s- we will be back again soon and try other dishes.

A really cute restaurant with delicious food. I had the veggie sandwich that was really tasty and my husband had a stellar cheesesteak. He said it was the best he’s ever had. We just stopped in Duncan for lunch and we do not regret eating here.

This was an absolutely flawless experience! The food was very reasonablly priced, and was served faster than I’ve seen before. Everything was delicious, and the waiter, Nolan, was also very polite and friendly, but not overbearing. My girlfriend and I found ourselves talking about how amazing it was on the way back to our car. Everything was perfect and I’ll definitely be coming back!

I really like this place. I have been coming for the last 10 years. Food is consistently good. Staff is usually good (though once in a while there can be some glitches, but in general I have been quite happy with it). When it is busy it can take some time to get your food (they share kitchen with the pub next door, but they have their own dishes). I recommend

Dropped in for a Dinner with the Cowichan Chamber sip and dine. Food was very tasty, Our server was on point with food orders and drinks. We had a great time visiting other chamber members and the spot was Cosy and fit us all in their private loft. A good spot for events.

Great family restaurant – Cod burgers, Tuna Tacos were super tasty. They know how to deep fry without making a greasy mess. The calamari was also good witb a super light and peppery batter. Reasonable prices.

My family’s experience last night was not good. We sat waiting for 15 minutes before I had to get up and tell the waitress we have yet to get waters or even place a drink order. After placing our order we waited another 30 minutes before receiving our calamari. The calamari was greasy. We waited another 30 minutes before our meals arrived. We ordered burgers… I ordered the hot an blue burger it lacked heat and had minimal blue cheese on it.. in regards to our environment we were placed next to a large table of 15 when they arrived they had 3 service dogs. Im allergic to dogs and the dogs stunk as they were passing gas and had a wet dog aroma to them. I wont be going back.. its unfortunate because the French onion soup was good.
