Fun vibe with above average food. Visited on a Saturday night as we wanted to check out the place for a future visit for music and drinks after dinner elsewhere with out of town guests. Although we found it wouldn’t work for us for that purpose, we discovered a great spot to hear live music and have good food for a great price. Music was varied so can be enjoyed by all.

Nice place for drinks. Surprisingly good food choices and preparation. Stop by for a drink or two, eat some food, watch some large screen TV’s, and listen to live music. What more could you want? Has both indoor and outdoor dining.

I came to Just Jake’s this past Friday, 6/30/23.: My girlfriend decided to bring me here for my birthday. I was so delighted to go somewhere new and celebrate especially in Montclair. A customer of hers had informed my girlfriend previous about Jake’s. From the time we walked in I felt a feeling that we were not welcome.First of all the front door crew was not friendly and looked us up and down. Second the young lady assistant asked my girlfriend if we had a reservation. My girlfriend stated she was told no after calling. The assistant took us into the main area. She then asked if we needed lower chairs. We said any chairs would be fine. She suggested that that we sit in the back. We walked with her to the back where and no one was no one there. I felt so discriminated. I can’t believe during this day and time 2023 we are still experiencing racism. It’s a shame because I really like one of the band members who was very pleasant. We were hungry and ready to buy food, drinks and enjoy the band. But after experiencing this do you really think we should! I will never attend this place.

The music in the evening was great. They do have a cover charge for weekends after a certain time. The sliced steak sliders that were a special was delicious! The French fries were also great. I have had better fish for fish and chips tho.

I’ve gone here a handful of times already, and I haven’t been disappointed yet! The large variety of drinks (from beer to mixed drinks) is far superior to most of the places I’ve been. They also don’t hold back when it comes to the food! If anyone were to ask me if I kept going for the food or drink, I’ll always respond with “both!”
