Always like this place. Good food, attentive servers. Stopped in for the Juno Edamane. It’s made with garlic slices. Very awesome and keeps the vampires away.
Update 10/20/25 – good as usual. I had the filet and shrimp, both cooked excellently. The filet melted in my mouth. Always too much food.

The place smelled like a toilet, I thought it was because we had just walked in past them.. then for service they didn’t bring my food out and tried to tell me I didn’t order it.. when she found I did they finally brought my meal.. right before eating a huge roach crawled out onto our table and back into the wall near the booth. We got up and left and let the workers know. AVOID.

Disappointing Service Experience
As someone who also works in the service industry as a server and host, I must say that the service here was very poor. I think I was just unlucky to have T.K. as our server. She didn’t check in on us at all to ask if we were okay or needed anything else. She simply took our order, left, served the food, and then disappeared again. While the food came out quickly, one of our orders was forgotten and left sitting for quite a while. The service from other staff members who weren’t assigned to our table was much better than the service from our actual server.
Furthermore, when it came time to pay, we had leftovers, but instead of offering us a to-go box, she just brought the check. When we put our card down, she took it without asking about the remaining food on our table. She didn’t seem to have any desire to provide good customer service.
I was very impressed with all the food; it was delicious and great value for the price. However, it’s a shame that the service was so bad. I saw other staff members check in on tables two or three times, asking if everything was okay or if they needed anything. In the end, we had to get a to-go box from the chef ourselves.
My friend highly recommended this restaurant, saying the food was excellent, so this was our first time trying it. I feel very disappointed, even though the food was good. As a fellow server, I believe there should be a standard for customer service. Honestly, I didn’t even want to tip, but out of politeness, I felt obligated to.
Please improve your service. We don’t want to have another bad experience like this.

This place is great! Not sure why it was shut down for around a year, it seems 100% similar to the last place (shogun) but with a different name. Either way the sushi was delicious- 16$ for the crunch munch roll, it was worth it. Yum. The chicken fried rice was great too, it was cooked perfectly and not too salty. We waited a quick 15 mins for the Togo & the staff was pretty friendly as well.

Great restaurant that wasn’t over crowded. Our chef was probably the best hibachi chef we’ve ever had. He was very engaging with everyone and really seemed to enjoy his job. The Kani salad, Easy On Me Sushi Roll, and all of the items that came with the red snapper entree were delicious!!

The atmosphere is fantastic, and so are the workers! But there was a ton of spicy and raw/undercooked sushi and rolls, which I personally don’t like, but if you do, you’ll love it! The sushi we ordered were delicious, and the overall experience was great!

Nice people but the food is very dry, bland and tastes like the grill it was cooked on. 30$ take out entrees with small portions and very little sauce or flavor. Both small scoops of soup were just all broth, tasted like basic chicken broth, no ingredients …. I wish I read some of the other reviews before ordering

I bring my son and his family here for December birthdays but this will be the last time. Food has gone downhill and our steaks were bland and overcooked. Rice had crunchy parts and almost broke my tooth. They gave us a25% discount but would’ve rather had a delicious meal. Also ordered a margaritas… yuck

My new favorite place to get sushi in Louisville! I got the soup, Easy on Me roll (right) and another roll I can’t recall the name of (left), and tempura ice cream. Literally everything was AMAZING. Very deep flavors and great presentation too. The restaurant itself has a great vibe and atmosphere and the service was great. I will definitely be coming back often.

the hostess literally threw the menus on the table the server sat in a booth yapping to their customers (who were probably their friends based on body language & things) while we were waiting to give them the money for the bill (i had the vibe that they weren’t going to be back to get our card so i wanted to pay cash; my bf is too anxious to leave it on the table. whatever.) when i finally convinced him to leave, they stood up & ran to grab the check (prob bc i was making a scene w my arms & bc he saw us getting up to leave, and assumed we were dining and dashing). i was making a scene with my arms in case anyone tried to say we didn’t pay they could check the cameras and see me pointing to the money). anyways. i’m super sad bc it used to be so great and yeah. i can’t really say i would recommend anyone to come here anymore. we used to come here literally once a week and the service (and food) has just gone down and down and downnnn hill and it’s soooo disappointing. this will probably be one of the last times we come.
