Great BBQ!! We visited on a weekday at lunch time and were quickly greeted. We ordered the Slice Of Heaven so we were able to try all the meats. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese, Macaroni Salad and Peach Cobbler. Everything was fantastic!! Everything had perfect flavor and was perfectly cooked. The Macaroni & Cheese is probably the best I have ever had!! Junior & his family have outstanding customer service. If you haven’t stopped in I highly recommend it!

This was hands down a top 5 bbq place I’ve been to in Texas! The food was absolutely phenomenal and the value was amazing as well. To the fall apart brisket, the pepper jack sausage, and the Cowboy potato salad, it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend Up in Smoke to anyone wanting amazing bbq at a great value.

Was in Brownwood on a work trip and was told to try Up in Smoke. Even though they were closing at 3, the owners allowed me to order and eat in the restaurant while they did closing tasks. They were welcoming and kind to me and my son.
We ordered the turkey, pork belly, and ribs, as well as the pintos and mac and cheese. All of it was outstanding. Being the end of the day, they were sold out of brisket, but I can only imagine it matches the standard of everything else they serve.

By far the best BBQ in Brown County. Owner is there so that makes a HUGE difference in the way a business operates. You get what you pay for and its prices correctly for the level of quality you get. I won’t go anywhere else for BBQ. Before this place I was embarrassed to buy my out of town family bbq

No words. We got the slice of heaven plate and let me tell you, the food was just that. Everything had such an amazing smoky taste, just like good barbecue should. If you are ever in Brownwood or any where near it, this place is a must to eat at. It won’t disappoint.

So far the best bbq I have tasted in this town. Brisket was super tender, I didn’t even need a knife to cut it. The turkey was super juicy and flavorful. Definitely recommend coming here and having a big plate off bbq

Always a good sign when you see smoke coming from behind the store! Add to that when you come up to the counter, they say, “ hang on let’s check to see if we have brisket.” Again… a good sign. Family run, great food, clean place. Only negative here is I wasn’t a fan of their signature sauce I’d liked to see another option. Won’t keep me away though I’ll be back.

First time I’ve been here and it’s amazing. Margaret was so pleasant, helpful and informative. Everyone was pleasant. The Brisket was so tender you almost didn’t have to chew. The brisket sandwich was so big my friend and I split it. The spicy cucumbers from the side bar were great as was the pinto beans. My friend loved the peach cobbler, and Blueberry and Apple.
