We accidentally stumbled across this place and decided to go. I will say this is one of my favorite Katsu places in the area. When you sit down there is a QR code to do individual or party orders.
We ordered the chicken and pork Katsu to share. Both came out super flakey and crispy. You can add on curry as a side, which helps cut the Katsu. It was a little pricy for the size that you received. There is another option that appears to be mostly curry with some Katsu, so maybe that would be a good option if you wanted more curry.
The udon was good too. I would have preferred less shoyu and a little more dashi, but that is a personal preference.
The wait can be long. The staffing is really limited. When we went they were calling out people on the wait list in person so you’ll want to be nearby and have someone stay at the area to hear them call for your party.
They mentioned that the prior night the line became too long so they had to cut off the wait-list. We waited around 30-45 minutes with 3 parties in front of us. I thought it was worth the wait.
We’ll try and come back to have the other items on the menu.

Have had a katsu craving for a few weeks now and decided to stop by this afternoon. First off, the chicken and pork katsu were great. Super fluffy, perfectly cooked. Rice and cabbage salad were great.
Seems like it’s a 2-3 person operation so totally understand the speed of service but it did take around 20 minutes to get my order and we were the second table seated. Newer business and the night before they said they were slammed so I get it.
Pricing is.. expensive. But also the other day I paid $18 for a mediocre teriyaki bowl from somewhere so just the reality of eating out in the US.
Would I come back? Sure!

Amazing katsu. Fluffy, crispy, tender, and best of all, does not taste greasy at all. Classic presentation on an aluminum rack and a pile of shredded cabbage. Rice is just right – short grain, moist, with great texture. And the red pickles brightens the flavor and lightens things up a bit. We get the tenderloin version (same price) which is basically dark meat. Portion is huge. Wish the bowl of rice was sized to match.
And don’t forget to get some sushi while there. They’re expensive, but…they’re top quality and totally worth it in flavor and portion.

I had no idea this spot existed. It’s pretty unique for the Bay Area. I’ve been to one of this store locations in Seoul, South Korea and it’s excellent. The is one is located in Danville and has a fun vibe to it. We ordered the chicken katsu with curry and tenderloin tonkatsu with udon. The tonkatsu was really good and the panko tasted great. The udon was overall good and a little on the sweeter side. The curry was definitely a little watery. I like the restaurant a lot but it was so expensive for two people.

Great Katsu place in the middle of Danvile downtown. Had Anshim combo and Cheese combo katsu, both really authentic and delicious. The side bukakke soba had some interesting smell, which I am not sure what it is though. Ikura and Hamachi nigiri was good as well.

Really good tonkatsu place in East Bay.
Panko breaded layered katsus were crispy to the sound. Ordered Anshim Tonkatsu (pork tenderloin) and Curry rice with tonkatsu.
Curry rice had too much rice, so it was bland. Wish they had kimchi or something.
Kinda on the pricier side though.
They have outside dining area.

Good food overall. We tried the pork tenderloin and cheese katsu; they were both great. The corn salad thing was a little too watery and bland. Also tried side curry, udon, and soba; we liked the udon (best out of the three) and soba more. We went for late lunch, so the place wasn’t super busy. We were able to sit, order (self order with phone), and get food quickly. They didn’t really check on us after we got the food, but we didn’t mind. This place is a little hidden at the end of an alley with stores. There was a sign on the sidewalk, but we didn’t see it the first time and went past it.

Finally a legit Katsu place in the East Bay!Pork loin & tenderloin are both good and tender, although the meat is thinner than what i’m used to and there’s no fat (I like some fat on my katsu). The breading tastes like fresh breadcrumbs and it’s the first time I had it in California (My favorite katsu place is in Honolulu & Las Vegas). The cabbage sauce is so good and the katsu sauce a little thinner in consistency compared to what we usually had in other place. I recommend they add freshly ground sesame seeds on the side to mix with the katsu sauce as that’s what’s missing. Over all I really enjoyed the food and definitely this would be a new go-to whenever I’m craving katsu!

wanted to love this place. it looks good but looks are deceiving. the fry on the katsu is great but the pork on the inside is really dry and doesn’t have much flavor. don’t get me wrong, this is still probably the best katsu place around. good for danville.
service isn’t as bad as some of the other reviews have mentioned but also not the greatest.

Top tier katsu and sushi restaurant in Danville.
I’ve eaten at the Oakland takeout location a few times but katsu is much better eaten immediately and fresh!
Dropped by kinda late on a busy holiday weekend and they were sold out of ingredients. Returned the next day and had the most delicious chicken katsu plate.
I’ve eaten katsu dishes all across Japan and can say with certainty that this restaurant nails the execution and quality. So so good!
Order via QR code and the service while limited, was very good and friendly.
Will definitely return and highly recommend.
