Best meat options north of Covington for cuts, prepared meat and fresh made food. Meat pie is creamy, delicious with soft flaky crust and not cooked to death. Cream cheese fried Boudin with jalapeño my goodness. I’m coming back.

I popped in here this week. I’d never seen it before but when I saw the sign for hot cracklins, I made a hard left turn into the parking lot. And boy, I’m glad I did. The cracklins are hot and fresh and they have a great selection of both packaged meats and hot, ready to eat items.

First time visited, some prices very good others little higher than normally pay. Purchased boneless pork short ribs, pork tasso,, Sierra steak and beef stew meat and were none ate yet great price, chicken crackling they were great and highly recommend ( fried skin is better than fried fat in my opinion.) Very likely will return again.

It’s a wonderful lil store with a large variety of frozen items like their house made boudin, stuffed pork chops,in house made sausages etc. They also serve hot lunches daily. Along with precooked items. The chicken cracklins are amazingly delish, but if they arent super fresh they can be a bit chewy and not so tasty. They did go up in their prices as we were goin each weekend on our way out to the state park. That reason for the 4 and not 5 stars is because of the sudden rise in prices as well as being told the chicken cracklins had just came out and we buy a whole lb (we’ve got 3 kids) and they weren’t fresh at all. This has happened on 3 occasions. But overall it’s a great place,we do enjoy it. I do wish they cooked to order cause I’d rather order a lb of the cracklins so I know for certain they are fresh and hot. I do recommend!

There are so many boudin and crackling locations throughout Louisiana. I had only fried options and one had pepper jack cheese, another was a traditional boudin ball. They have very popular chicken cracklings and daily plate lunches. Their servers were very effective and there are a few tables among the specialty meat coolers. We also had boudin stuffed pork chops. Pork can sometimes be tough. The chops were in the middle between bad and good. The boudin flavor was closer to average. They have at least 3 locations.

I usually have to rush back from Texas just to catch some delicious boudin around the Scott area. Not anymore….hands down the best boudin! The chicken cracklins are delicious too.

Very clean, food is mouth-watering! It’s so hard to choose what to get because it’s all so delicious!! I’m so excited to have this type of store close to me! I was surprised to see you can also purchase different types of meat in the cooler. It all looks so good too!!

Bought cracklins today at 11am. It was leftover garbage that was so hard it could break your teeth. They permanently lost a customer. Throw that old stuff away, don’t try reselling it, you’ll go out of business.

My wife and I finally had a chance to check out this new business in Franklinton, La at the intersection of highway 16 and La 450 tonight. The owners greeted us as this is a family run business. We tried the boudin balls both the pepper Jack and cream cheese ones. They are absolutely fantastic with robust authentic Cajun flavor. Checked out all the different displays of sausages, stuffed boneless stuffed chickens and other Louisiana foods. If you’re in the area stop and give them a try I promise you won’t regret it. It’s a perfect place to make a day trip to and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. And did I mention they’re very affordable And the Crawfish pies were the best we’ve ever tried.
