Need a 0 rating! This place was truly awful and nearly ruined our day at the zoo. We used mobile ordering that was plastered all over the exterior of the building, HUGE MISTAKE! We, along with MANY other disgruntled guests who made the mistake of using mobile ordering, were left waiting for our food anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour! They don’t notify you when your food is ready so we all stood inside in a small area waiting for our orders. The people that opted to go inside and wait in line to order received their food in a relatively timely manner, but it was too late for us who used the mobile code outside. To make matters worse, our burgers were cold, and not cooked thoroughly! $32 for 2 burgers that weren’t eaten because they were raw! There were 6 of us, 1 ordered chicken fingers and they were cooked, the 5 of us had raw, cold burgers. Look at the cheese, the burger wasn’t even warm enough to melt it! Absolutely no excuse for this at THE NC zoo! Avoid at all costs.

Out of date. Restroom doors do NOT lock. Pink Lemonde very watered down. Basic hot dog $10. So i got a kids to get more items. Burger patty was small. About 30min wait while there was no line/ not a crowd of people and pre ordered on the app

The food itself tasted good. Service was bad. Prices were awful and not clearly labeled on any snack items. The kitchen floor was littered in fries, and tables were nit clean. We will bring our own food next time, it is not worth it.

Well I paid $11 something for a bottle of water and a fruit cup. There were no prices for these items listed so sticker sock was definitely there. We have visited other zoo’s in different states and never spent this much. Total rip off for a water and a cup of grapes with 2 orange slices.

pizza place is ok, not a lot of choices, but for a cafe inside a zoo its fine. Pepperoni is better than veggie

Honestly thie price gouging is outrageous. Took 20 min waiting in line just to order our food(their online web ordering was down and I highly doubt it works as there is almost no signal), we then had to wait another 20 minutes for it to be made.

It took an hour for the food to be ready from a mobile, with no update as to why it was taking so long. We were told they couldn’t refund us, and had to watch people who ordered in person get their food right away. Also the text that the system was supposed to send when the food was done didn’t come until an hour after we had gotten the food and left. A black mark on an otherwise very pleasant visit to the zoo.

We didn’t have that bad of an experience here. We used the app to order and food was ready around 10 minutes. Got the chicken tenders which were decent sized (only 2) and the fries were just plain and bland. The prices are gonna be high anywhere like this so we expected as much.

It was the worst experience of all time. The ordering itself took 15 minutes. Then it took, no joke, and hour and a half for the food to arrive, and half of it wasn’t even there. It was outrageously priced at a staggering $17 for a single burger, not even including the fries. They were an extra $4, and the drinks were $6. All together, we paid a whopping $127 for half of what we ordered. And to add insult to injury, there were no refunds. The rest of the zoo is great, but beware of the cafe. Bring your own food and water.

The food has gotten worse and the prices have gone way, way up over the years. We visited the zoo yesterday and we typically just eat at the zoo because the chicken fingers were actually quite tasty from this Cafe. Lo and behold, no more chicken fingers. Burger prices have climbed from $10.50 for sizable burger + fries to $17 for small single-patty burger + chips; the french fry option was missing altogether and they gave a small handful of chips along with the burger instead of the previous generous portion of fries. This has all occurred over the last 5 years as we’ve been zoo regulars since our son was a toddler. We were very disappointed in the quality and the price on this visit, so much so that I don’t believe we’ll be dining at the zoo again in the future, we’ll bring our own food. On the plus side, mobile ordering was fast, under 5 minutes, and they did actually text us when it was ready which is something that hasn’t consistently happened in the past.
