This cafe was a cute spot with some decent food. Ordering at the bar and finding seating was a bit difficult. The food was well overpriced but seemed fine due to it being in DC. I enjoyed eating here but would not rush to go back.

Junction has become an absolute staple of the neighborhood. The food is always good, the drinks are continually solid, and you can’t beat the location. It’s one of the last great happy hour spots in the area. Whenever we’re walking around and we feel like stopping somewhere, our default is the junction.
Highly recommend trying their entire daily/weekly special menu.

Came to Junction Bistro & Bar since I was in the neighborhood in search of a coffee shop/bakery of the sort with food because I was really hungry. The menu was pretty extensive for such a place, which was a relief.
They did not have pour coffee when I arrived, but I was able to get some mocha. It was tasty but needed extra sugar.
I ordered the Turkey BLT + chips & it was pretty decent. I think the bacon was the true star of the sandwich. It was thick cuts of bacon.
I also ordered the Friday special, which was $7 spiked cider or mulled wine. I ordered the spiked cider. I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy it was. I ordered it hot, and I am sure that made a huge difference.
The atmosphere itself can be cozy & average noise, but will quickly turn into a bar atmosphere after 5pm. As a Fall/Autumn lover, I really loved the cute table decor.
Overall, I do like the place. Solid daily specials, decent food and drinks and nice staff. If I return again, I would like to order pour coffee, a pastry, and the highly recommended hot chicken sandwich.

There isn’t table service – you order and pay at the cashier and then you get a number stand and they bring the food out to you. I wish they had the toast tab QR code system so that you don’t have to disrupt your conversation to go to the cashier and order another drink, etc. I got the Thai street bowl and thought it was pretty good though I would’ve appreciated more noodles and a bit less meat. My friend got the falafel and was extremely disappointed. My other friend got the pork bowl and said it was delicious.
I loved the look of the restaurant, especially the tables and tiles. It had a good vibe on a Wednesday evening.

Delicious brunch! I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs, and wow. The biscuit was unique and flavorful, the gravy was flavorful and the potatoes were crispy and hot. We also got the Cubano and loved it. Very soft bread, awesome pulled pork, and crispy fries. Good value, pretty large portion sizes in my opinion. Thank you! I would totally recommend you visit.

Love this place! The staff are great, really friendly and responsive. The food isn’t anything amazing but it is always tasty and great comfort food after a long day. They have a decent selection of vegetarian options. There is a fun buzz here after work, lots of people hanging out. The setup is great too with a really long bar so it feels very social.

If you visit Del Rey in Alexandria, Virginia, locals will tell you to visit Junction Bakery. Fresh baked pastries and bread fill the early morning air daily. Neighbors gather around the breakfast, lunch, and dinner table. This same Junction Bakery just opened their first D.C. location on Capitol Hill a few blocks from Union Station. Here’s what is to love:
1) Space: It’s gorgeous. Despite being in a smaller space because D.C., they make good use of it. When you walk into the bottom floor of an apartment building, you’ll see the counter where you can order coffee, pastries, and grab-n-go food. To the left of the counter are two tables hidden in a corner. Moving past the front counter, you enter a narrow room with a long bar and plenty of seating for dining in. There’s a mural in the back, an open kitchen, and restrooms (each with a changing table inside) off to the side.
2) Food: I’ve only been for breakfast, but their menu is diverse and the pastries fresh. The chocolate croissant is large and with a good chocolate to dough ratio. They brew Commonwealth Joe Coffee from Arlington and it’s good. My latte was creamy and balanced.
3) Service: They bring the Northern Virginia charm. Each staff member genuinely greeted me and were attentive.
If you need a place to work, go here. They have public wifi and plenty of outlets. The natural light pouring in doesn’t hurt either.

OVER PRICED FOOD, lack of good vegan options, staff friendly at register but otherwise customer service seriously lacking. Just about the worst experience I’ve ever had at a cafe. My husband was eating a bagel from his bag while we were eating food bought here and the staff tried telling us it’s a health code violation to eat outside food instead of being honest that their boss is too money hungry after their $16 sausage biscuit that you can basically get at McDonald’s for much less and a side of fries we ordered from here. 10am on a Sunday is too early to be this rude.
Update: just ran out of OJ. I would get a refill but I’d probably have to sell my soul to afford it.
