Jumbars is local breakfast and lunch eatery and bakery offering delicious hand-crafted meals, and baked goods. It was established in November 2003 by Chef Paul Hoffert and his wife Mary. Chef Paul graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in 1988 and continued to live and work in Montepelier, Vermont until 1996, when they moved back home to the Lehigh Valley. They opened this Bethlehem diner to provide a venue for fresh, hand-crafted cuisine, good conversation, and a sense of community. Even after Mary’s passing in 2008, the Hoffert family continues the Jumbars legacy by providing first class food, baked goods, and atmosphere to the Lehigh Valley.
Quaint bistro serving omelets & sandwiches along with a bakery serving pies & pastries.

After a small wait in line it was well worth it. Carol was a great server and hostess. Jumbars is like a cafe in a Robert Frost poem. A very quaint place with old school ambience. Everything is homemade and absolutely fantastic. The bread wow, the bread. My corn beef was hand peeled with not one bit of fat. The people we stood in line with were correct in saying that this one the best places for breakfast in Bethlehem.

On this chill fall morning I walked right past Jumbars while looking down at my phone looking for it. I’m glad I found it in the end. I had delicious locally roasted coffee and gluten-free corn muffin grilled in oodles of butter to start and ended up ordering a vegetarian Chili omelette. Delicious, simple good food. My coffee kept getting refilled as I did my morning writing. Left satisfied and a little wired. Took their special Pumpkin muffins to go for my husband.

Great spot!! This is one of the few restaurants I have ever been to that makes me feel that mom made me breakfast!! Felt like home it was so good!! I don’t know what they did back there LOL but it was excellent! Bread is fresh baked and soooo good!! Only downfall is it’s small. There is a dead spot in the middle of seating area where they could easily get a few more tables in but maybe they want to keep it small? Either way it is soooo worth the wait!! Not to many places around that make such great meals it makes you feel like you’re at home.

Yesterday I went here with my boyfriend we walked in and waited to be seated. She told us she would be “right with us” It took her a great deal of time to come up and tell us there is an hour long wait. I don’t understand why she couldn’t have came over or told us immediately. If we would have known there was an hour long wait we would have left instantly. We weren’t upset that there was a wait for this place. The menu looks good. We are upset that we wasted time. Poor customer service.
