Reviews
OK..my husband and I tried this place based on the glowing reviews. We do not understand the 4 and 5 stars at all. I only gave it 5 stars so my review would be on top. Otherwise it goes to the bottom, where no one scrolls to read the 1’s and 2’s.
The 4 and 5 stars MUST be from friends and family. The 1’s and 2’s must be from actual customers. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs with country potatoes. The potatoes must have come from a bag and microwaved. They weren’t crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. In fact they weren’t even golden brown. They didn’t see the hot side of a skillet or griddle and had ZERO seasoning. Not even salt and pepper. The eggs were school bus bright yellow…like more from a carton then maybe a chicken, and the chicken fried steak, pretty sure it was not freshly made either. His toast came over toasted, rock hard with no butter and nothing on his plate (or mine) was hot.
I ordered the biscuit and gravy. My biscuit (only one cut in half that was already half the size of a normal biscuit so it’s not biscuitS and gravy) left a LOT to be desired. The biscuit appeared to also have been microwaved. It was doughy, like stuck on the roof of my mouth; under cooked doughy and the “crust” was soft and wrinkly. Like you might see from something moist being placed on a paper towel and reheated in a microwave. The hashbrowns were soft and greasy…no crispy side, they also did not see the hot side of a skillet. And the portions were something any other restaurant would serve off their child’s menu. Then there was the coffee, watered down and flavorless.
OH and don’t let me forget the over cooked bacon. If bacon could be made into jerky, there you have it. Almost too hard to bite let alone chew.
The outside of this place definitely represents the food inside this place. Lack luster. This place serves over priced, poorly cooked, bland food. Nothing 5 stars about it. Not even 3. Save yourselves the misery and eat some place else!
I had the ham & cheese omelet with country potato’s that were cooked perfectly! My husband had the country fried steak with French fries with a side of shot stack pancakes, super fluffy and tasted like cake. Great place for some good breakfast staples!
The breakfast was delicious. I loved the Huevos con Chorizo, though a bit of cheese would help. The country potatoes are fried to perfection. Everyone enjoyed their food and the omelet was stuffed about a full a could be.
The only complaint is the acoustics of the place. They really need to figure out a way to get rid of the hollow cafeteria sound. Maybe some wall hangings would help. It’s just a bit distracting.
But we will be back when we are in Battleground for sure.
I had the avocado benidict with country potatoes. Hollandaise sauce was good and perfectly poached eggs.
Will definitely return specifically because the staff was so friendly, and my coffee was refilled each time in a timely manner.
The menu is diverse and offers something for everyone, from classic breakfast options like eggs Benedict to authentic Mexican dishes. I personally enjoyed the eggs Benedict with hash browns and my wife loved the biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. The quality of the food was outstanding and the portions were generous.
One thing I appreciated about Julio’s is the ample parking space available, making it easy to visit. The prices are unbeatable compared to other breakfast diners, making it an affordable option for those on a budget.
Overall, I highly recommend Julio’s Coffee and Breakfast. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the prices are unbeatable. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
