It’s such a cute spot with really fresh & delicious food! The garden area in the back is so nice & relaxing. My friend & I started with an Oatmeal Coffee Cake and a Blueberry Muffin which were both so moist & flavorful. The Ginger Lemon brew (iced) was very refreshing & my friend’s Iced Vanilla Latte w/oat milk was so yummy! I also had to try the Baked Eggs w/ a side baguette & it was absolutely scrumptious, especially with the crispy cheesy edges I will definitely be coming back!

Best onsite bakery. Fresh and well put together food and drinks served to you on the back patio or inside.

I have been catering from Julie’s for my Art & Design lecture series at a local university. –one, to support a local business over a retail chain, but two, because their catering selections are themselves works of art!!! As such, their lavender cookies (with real flowers) and beautifully designed veggie platters surprise and delight our creative students. I have observed that, when the students feel taken seriously upon encountering a “real” reception (as opposed to Oreos and animal crackers), they take THEMSELVES more seriously as aspiring professionals; and then they engage with our guest speakers on that level. And that impresses our professional guests. Julie’s cookie and veggie arrangements make an event feel special. It’s worth the investment, even on my very tight budget. That said, it’s really not much more expensive to order from them than to get platters from Safeway, but I know I am getting more wholesome ingredients, more design flair, more eco consciousness, and putting money back into my community. Shannon is really flexible in putting together a catering order, and the kind staff will even help you carry items to your car (if you don’t have budget for on-site delivery). The students and I have been beyond pleased with their food and their magic.

This tea garden is a charming spot with a serene ambiance. I ordered a sustainably-sourced tea, which was presented beautifully in a whimsical teapot display – such a delightful touch! The Salmon Toast was packed with flavor and clearly made with high-quality ingredients.

However, the prices are noticeably higher compared to other fair-trade options nearby. While I enjoyed my visit and would happily return for a special treat, it might not become a regular stop for me. I will try again when warm enough to sit in back garden area!

I have been a happy customer of Julie’s for over a decade. I always feel comfortable/welcome/at home here. It feeds my soul as well as my belly. I love the food which is both nourishing and comforting. I love the staff – they are familiar and welcoming. I love hanging out in the garden. Their special games nights are fun, glad they are returning this summer. A local group I am in holds their book club here, it’s a great spot for that. I’ve brought guests here when visiting from Europe. We all love Julie’s. Wishing its ongoing success under Shannon’s leadership.

I usually come for a quick bite/drink and a long time ago came to study at Julie’s. When I started looking for venues, I remembered how charming this little place was! I had a great experience with hosting a semi-private event in their garden for my sister’s bridal shower. I had the ultimate vision in my mind and was able to execute it perfectly with Julie’s! Their garden was already such a cute space that I was able to customize. Shannon their event coordinator was very flexible in offering me options to bring my idea to life. They offered various catering options with add-ons that would surely fit any event. The great thing is they have offerings for medium-large as well as small parties as well. We hosted 27 people and had half the garden to ourselves. We still felt like we had our own space and the service was great.
Amazingly, all event details were all communicated via email. And in the day of, everything was exactly as we discussed. This is definitely a testament to the organization of their staff. They had the perfect afternoon tea menu to go with our event. Everyone raved about their garden, food, and experience. I would highly recommend julie’s to anyone looking to host a small get together!

Cute spot, and pretty decent (if not slightly pricey for the quantity) food. Unfortunately they must have had a meltdown in the kitchen today (Sunday), as both my friend and I’s lunch order took 59 minutes to arrive. After checking in with the kitchen after 45 minutes, it was likely they didn’t start until then. Would have been nice to understand a long wait at order time.

Usually when an inconvenience happens, I roll with the punches. Whether the food is running behind or something about the order is missing, I tend to ere on the side of patience and carry on. “Oh, there was a mix up with my order? No worries I’ll still eat it.”
” That’s 3 shots of expresso in that pour over instead of my usual decaf? Give it here no need to waste it.”

I try not to make a fuss or big deal when something isn’t perfect because I know mistakes happen in the service world and its inherently a stressful industry.

But not this afternoon.

I ordered a quiche along with a scone with their Devonshire cream (all to go, if it matters) and waited north of 20 minutes before I had to go back in line to check if my food was still coming. I watched the cashier check in the back with the kitchen staff, got reassurance that my order was on the way and waited for a couple minutes more until I was given my food.

Lo and behold when I finally arrive home to sit and eat I realize the Devonshire cream wasn’t in the bag. That’s ok, mistakes happen. I still have my quiche though… but when I bit into it I immediately recognized that it was cold and weirdly chewy. BECAUSE. THE. DOUGH. WAS. RAW.

You’re telling me I waited patiently all that time, tipped well even though my order was take-out, and the return I get was missing items AND RAW FOOD? Seriously, why did it even take that long when the quiche wasn’t even cooked.

—– No seriously, I really want to know what was happening and the thought process behind sending out uncooked food. Please if you’re the owner and reading this, understand that people can get severely ill from eating raw flour and eggs. —–

I went back to Julie’s along with the food I was given and told them I was upset and had waited a while just to be served raw food and missing items. The cashier brought the manager over, inspected the quiche and noted yes, it was in fact not cooked. She took the food and brought over the cashier from whom I ordered from originally and we had a short dialogue that resulted in me getting a refund. No mean words were said, no emotional blow back, no wild proclamations of reparations were uttered. It was pretty clear the cashier was sincerely sorry any of this happened.

(It did tickle me to see the manager who took back my food went into a corner with another staff member to exchange worried looks when they did a second inspection of the quiche)

To the staff at Julie’s: You guys are great and I love the space you provide for the community.

*** Separately, I want to acknowledge the person behind me who was expressing physical and audible annoyance over the fact I was trying to rectify this wildly mild inconvenient experience. Eat raw dough. ***
